Study Buddies

Homura helps Madoka go over the basics of physics as she reads her textbook while snuggled up together on the couch. Once the studying is over the snuggling continues, because of course it does.

Infinity University is a school that expects a lot of its students, intent upon training them to be the future experts in their fields and setting them up to be renowned for their skill and knowledge. Part of this means introducing concepts far in advance of other schools, which is why Madoka Kaname is now having to learn about Physics as standard procedure even before leaving middle school. She's come a long, long way from how far behind she was after transferring back from America and had mostly been able to keep her grades high with help, but adding entirely new scientific concepts were throwing her for a bit of a loop.

Luckily she can still fall right back onto that tutoring, and it doesn't hurt that her girlfriend is smart, willing to help, and excessively advanced for her age; Homura didn't sit idle in all those years of repeating the same month of schooling over and over and over. The two of them are studying at Madoka's house and their other homework is already finished. Still wearing her school uniform Madoka sits snuggled up next to Homura on the couch, her physics book open and set between them, the spine resting in the gap between their pressed together legs.

The pink-haired girl's face shows mild confusion as she reads it out loud, slowing down slightly now and then and giving Homura an idea of what she seems to be having the most trouble with. Some things are simple enough to her, like things wanting to stay in motion or at rest, while more advanced concepts seem to puzzle her. How are acceleration and gravity related at all?! And speaking of, why 'doesn't' everyone go flying off the Earth if it's spinning so fast, moving so fast around the sun, and all that?

"Shouldn't we feel it?" she asks in mild confusion while pausing her reading, "not all the time but well..." She thinks on how to explain her thoughts before getting an idea, "Oh! In America there are carnival rides that has three big spinning arms, and then three little arms that spin cars inside of them. Those really move you around, and sometimes it's really strong! Isn't Earth spinning and also going around the sun kind of like that? And it's moving a lot faster! ...right?"
Homura Akemi 2016-11-19 22:58:25 60893
Homura certainly did not sit on her laurels when it came to studying, especially when it became clear that learning about certain subjects could have practical applications in her life. Add that to the mind-numbing boredom of taking the exact same class over and over, long after you've mastered the material, and it's no wonder Homura decided that she needed some other kind of mental stimulation.

She leans against Madoka, resting her head against her shoulder affectionately, but aside from that she's mostly focusing on the book. Homura does want Madoka to do well, because Madoka not only someone she loves but the one she loves most, and physics in particular has had... a lot of benefits to Homura's lifestyle. Especially the physics of motion.

"Well, there is a lot to that question. First off, you do at least somewhat feel it, or rather if you were to suddenly become weightless you'd feel that something was very different. However, since you've always felt it since the day you were born, and since it's so constant, you wouldn't really be able to pick it out from all of the other things you feel constantly, such as the weight of the atmosphere or the force of gravity.. The human brain is better at detecting changes than it is in detecting constant states. Once something becomes constant, the brain tunes it out."

She taps her chin with her free hand, trying to consider how best to phrase it. Talking physics with someone who knows the terms already is easy. Talking about it to someone who doesn't know it...? "Like okay. First off, the human body doesn't really feel velocity. What you feel on a carnival ride is usually acceleration. You might be able to somewhat feel velocity when the wind is going through your hair, like if you're um..." Homura tries to think of an example that doesn't involve super jumping, "... like if we're running, but it's not quite the same. You don't feel it when a car goes a constant rate, but you feel it when it slows down or speeds up."
Madoka Akemi 2016-11-19 23:23:44 60899
Having Homura's head resting on her shoulder is nice, and if Madoka wasn't having to read from her textbook she'd probably be mentioning that or nuzzling the side of her head against the top of Homura's, but for now at least she doesn't want to distract herself too much, and things like that can end up being very distracting.

"Oh, that's true... I guess it would be hard to notice something that was always there." Especially if it didn't change, and gravity and the rotation of the planet is very much a constant; at least enough so to be nearly impossible to notice. When the mention of running and feeling the wind is mentioned Madoka nods a little more, "I guess that's true. It just seems a little silly that we're moving so fast and can't feel it. I couldn't possibly run fast enough to keep up with a sunset, but when I run it does feel like I'm moving very fast."

The car analogy also seems to work fairly well, "When I'm riding in a car with someone moving feels the same as when we're sitting still. Well, mostly, there's bumps and things too." But those don't really count for the purpose of their conversation, do they? She reads some more, a bit slower because she's mulling things over in her mind as she goes. She shifts a little, leaning against Homura a bit more and relaxing against her. "It's kind of surprising how complicated everything is." She makes a bit of a face and her eyebrows pinch together. "I had no idea how fast time goes can change. I... don't really understand that at all," she admits, looking mildly embarrassed.
Homura Akemi 2016-11-19 23:39:51 60901
Homura doesn't exactly want to distract Madoka, either. After all, as much as she loves to cuddle, she'd feel terrible if Madoka failed a test because she didn't have enough study time! So she leaves it at shoulder resting, for now.

So instead, she responds and explains. Homura's purple eyes are looking at the textbook, and while she already knows most of it the refresher is pretty nice. Besides, Madoka will be tested on the material in the book, so it's best to focus on that.

"Yeah it's a little strange to think about, since for most of our lives we see motion and can also feel it." She could say more, but she doesn't want to dump too many concepts at once. When she gets to the rate of time changing, Homura thinks. "Well, that's a whole other concept in general. You wouldn't think that something like that would ever come up, but actually the satellites in orbit that handle things like... cell phones and GPS, they have internal clocks, and those clocks actually move at a different speed of time than we do. We're spinning really fast, but the satellites have to move even faster to keep up."

She considers whether or not she should get into the concept of angular velocities, but then Madoka is talking about how complicated everything is. "It gets really complicated if you try to think of it all at once, but if you break the concepts down into their parts the individual parts are simple. Like... when you know what force is, you can more easily figure out what gravity means, and when you know about angular velocities, you can more easily understand things like orbits and so on. You have to start at the simplest parts if you really want to get it."
Madoka Akemi 2016-11-19 23:54:57 60902
It's not as if sitting close doesn't feel very nice, too! Madoka's long rest lightly against Homura's stockings, and whenever they shift or move the feeling of the different cloths brushing is noticeable. Noticeable, but not completely distracting.

"It sounds like it would be very bad to try and use satellites without keeping that in mind." For a few moments she looks upwards and tilts her head, but it isn't satellites she's thinking about. Magical girls can move pretty fast! But maybe not fast enough to go into orbit. Still, does that significantly impact how much time is passing for them? Are all Magical Girls mini time travelers in that way? Well, certainly not anything close to the extent of the time traveler helping her learn physics concepts!

She giggles a little as Homura further explains and shakes her head, "I'm not trying to think of it all at once. It's more... it's all things that are happening all the time, and we just take them for granted. I always knew the planets went around the sun, but not how complicated the stuff keeping them in place was. There's so many things happening all the time, it's kind of amazing. Even getting to know the simplest parts is neat. Though not, um, easy."
Homura Akemi 2016-11-20 00:17:04 60906
"It would be," agrees Homura, "and it was a real problem at one point." While it's true that magical girls can travel very fast, a physicist would probably argue that we're all travelling through time, just at different rates. Though Homura probably wouldn't even bring up an argument like that for fear of being too pedantic.

She nods as Madoka explains, and the nod has the effect of nuzzling against Madoka's shoulder. Homura clears her throat as she tries to think of what to say. She's having a problem because she knows so much stuff that it's hard to think of where to begin.

"Well, here's something I heard while eavesdropping on a psychology class: Psychology is really Biology, Biology is really Chemistry, Chemistry is really Physics, and Physics is really Math. The point being... all of the sciences are tied together. All of them are basically looking at the same... you know, world, and focusing on different parts of it. Physics, being mostly about bodies and motion, can be applied to... just about everything that moves. Well, actually, quantum mechanics goes against Physics in some ways... but they're probably not going to test you on that yet."

On the other hand, well, it is Infinity. There are probably people Homura's own age there who already understand quantum mechanics.

"When learning physics, what you really want to focus more on is how things move. For example... going back to why we feel acceleration and not necessarily velocity, it's like..."

Well hopefully this analogy isn't too distracting. "Like imagine when we're dancing. At some point I take your hand and pull on it, and thereby pull the rest of you along with it. One part of you is moving and pulling the other parts with it. The molecules of your body are the same way. They don't actually all accelerate at the same rate. Instead, one molecule moves, and pulls other molecules along with it, and your body feels that pull."

"And when we're spinning around, and our dresses... you know... swoosh out, the edges of our dresses are moving really fast even though we, aside from the spinning, are keeping the same position in space."

Homura considers what else to say, and then remembers Madoka reading slowly when it came to gravity and how it has something to do with acceleration. How best to explain that? "To go back to another thing, consider Newton's first law. Objects stay in motion or at rest until acted upon by an outside force. A more... precise way to put that is that objects maintain their velocity unless a force acts upon it, and sometimes that velocity happens to be zero. Force is what changes velocity, and Force can come from a lot of things, such as one thing bumping into another, or gravity."
Madoka Akemi 2016-11-20 00:43:33 60909
Madoka nods along with the explanation of how all the sciences are connected together, right up until the very end of the line ends up being 'Math', at which point her mouth opens a little and a slightly stricken expression crosses her face in a look that just screams 'oh no'. "M-math? Really? But I had to work so hard to learn the math I know already, and it gets so much more complicated! How can math be the meaning of everything." She does get a brief look of relief on her face and she perks up, "But quantum mechanics is against physics? Does... does that mean it has less math?" Poor Madoka.

It seems like that's another thing that threatens to overwhelm her, so going back and focusing on the simpler things is a welcome relief. The dancing analogy is a good one too, putting a smile on her face and helping her to relax without worrying too much about the complexities. Her head gives a little nod, "That's right, when we pull on each other it's not all at once. If you tug on my arm if I stand still it'll just yank my arm and maybe hurt, but if I don't resist I can be drawn along by my arm."

Madoka suppresses a giggle at the thought of pretty dresses whirling about them as they spin. "Right! And when you move your arms out you spin slower than when you pull them in." Which is more something she knows from ice skating more than dancing, but might be applicable.

"Gravity is acting on us all the time though, right?" Madoka peeks upwards and tilts her head, "The Earth is always pulling us down, but even if we were up in space the Sun has gravity too. But... if it's constant it feels like nothing to us, and really being 'stopped' just means no acceleration?" She started out saying something and ended up in a question. "Eheheh... I'm really glad I have you to help me with this, Homura-chan."
Homura Akemi 2016-11-20 01:14:09 60915
"Well...I wouldn't exactly say that Math was the meaning of everything," thinks Homura out loud. "More that it's a generic way of modeling everything. We can barely do our jobs without a little bit of math. It can be complicated, but it applies to just about every subject." Further proof that this is a universe intended to draw out suffering.

When Madoka asks if quantum mechanics has less math, Homura shakes her head no. "Quantum mechanics is hard to conceptualize is because it defies our understanding of the universe. We expect objects to be persistent, which is to say that barring special circumstances we expect this couch to continue to exist, but if the couch were a quantum particle it might exist and it might not. Even that I'm not entirely sure is right. It's not something I've looked too deeply into."

Homura sticks out her tongue and says, "I hope I don't pull on your arm that hard, but yeah. Resisting would increase the tension in your arm and stretch it out, and that could hurt. Tension is actually another kind of force. Tension is why, when you're docking a boat, you can pull on the rope to pull it towards you. The rope's ability to handle tension without breaking is the reason the boat doesn't float away."

The mention of pulling in arms while twirling gets a nod from Homura, and she gets into yet another topic. "That gets into the conservation of angular momentum. Okay, here's an important thing to remember in physics. You have things like velocity, acceleration, momentum, and so on, and most of these things have to do with changes in your position in space. Position meaning, if we were to scoot over on the couch a little, that would be a change of position. However, there's also angular velocity, angular acceleration, and angular momentum, and whenever you see the term 'angular' you are dealing with things spinning around. So like... the rotation of the Earth? That's angular velocity."

"The reason why you spin faster when you pull your arms in is because angular momentum is conserved." Homura extends one of her arms all the way in front of her, curling her fingers to make a fist. "If I were spinning around with my arms extended, my hands would be moving faster than any other part of my body. Momentum is mass times velocity, so naturally my hands have more momentum when my arm is stretched out than they do when I pull them in." Homura pulls her hand closer to her body, pressing it against her shoulder. "Thing is though, if the momentum of my hand goes down, then the momentum of the rest of me has to go up in order to compensate, and that means I'll end up going faster as a result."

On the question of Gravity, Homura nods. "Right. It's constantly acting on us, but most of the time we're already on the ground, and while gravity is pulling us down, the ground pushes us back up, and it evens out so that we don't move at all."

When Madoka says she's glad to have Homura around to help, Homura looks a little sheepish. "Eheh. Well... I'm happy to help, Madoka-chan."
Madoka Akemi 2016-11-20 01:31:45 60919
Madoka nods a little but can't help frowning a tiny bit. To say that emotions can be modeled out with math sounds... well, like something an Incubator would say. Then again Kyubey tends to say that emotions are irrational, and math is rational, so maybe that's the exception? It might seem out of nowhere that Madoka leans into Homura, closing her eyes and nuzzling her cheek against her girlfriends hair, "My love for you definitely can't be generically modeled with math." It's not an accusation though; Homura did say 'just about' every subject, which leaves room for exceptions.

The couch might exist and it might not? Madoka looks to Homura as if she has no idea how such a thing could be possible, the truth more being she doesn't grasp the concept attempting to be explained in the slightest. "O-okay." Well, if Homura hasn't dealt with it much, hopefully that means Madoka won't have to for a while either!

A quick shake of her head is given and Madoka giggles softly, "You don't." The boat example also makes sense to her since she's watched Tenshi Maru dock a few times. It's also easy to conceptualize the rope snapping under too much tension if the ship were moving too fast.

"That's... a lot of different things to think about," Madoka notes quietly when angular velocity, acceleration, and momentum are noted. "What, um... what is angular momentum, Homura-chan? Why is it different compared to normal momentum?" Her head tilts lightly. The example about holding her hand out and then pulling it in while spinning takes a moment to click, but after thinking about it Madoka seems to understand. "So... because it's moving slower but all of you is still moving the same amount, your body moves faster? So it's... kind of like an algebra equation! One part of you can have more or less than another part, but it's always the same amount overall." She pauses a second and then adds, "Unless something happens to change it."

Madoka smiles as Homura gets a little sheepish, squirming a little in her seat. "Ehehe..."

Then, suddenly she's reading again! Because there isn't that much left in the chapter and being done with her required reading suddenly seems like a very good idea.
Homura Akemi 2016-11-20 01:49:29 60921
Homura was certainly talking about objects in physical space when she said 'everything', and not about concepts like emotion. Though Kyubey might have some kind of scientific research on emotions it's not as if the little rat actually understands it. When their love is brought up, Homura blushes and stammers a little. "W... Well I mean. Um. Eheh. I don't think my feelings for you could be summed up in a few equations either."

Homura could almost imagine the voice of the incubator showing up and going, 'well actually...', but thankfully he's nowhere to be found.

Homura blows off quantum mechanics with a wave of her hand. "Don't worry about it. It's only complicated because no one really understands it."

Once Homura is mostly satisfied that her explanations... at least made sense, she nuzzles against Madoka's shoulder and watches as she reads. "Mostly I like physics because it helps you understand how um... well like... for example, if someone were to shoot an arrow while moving, understanding physics will let you understand how the arrow will fly. Like... if you're staying still while firing then the arrow will move straight forward, but if you're moving forward and shoot to the side, the arrow will move in a straight line relative to you but it will be somewhat diagonal relative to the ground. Sort of. Aerodynamics could change that a bit. But that's why I think it's usef- I mean neat."

Homura nuzzles her cheek against Madoka's shoulder, and watches as they get closer to the end of the chapter, because unless there's something else to study it's not hard to guess what comes after.
Madoka Akemi 2016-11-20 02:00:30 60922
Homura echoing her sentiments puts a smile on Madoka's face. "Not all of psychology then," she adds after a moment, potentially bringing to light why her mind went there in the first place. She blushes a little herself at seeing Homura's blush, because her girlfriend is so pretty and cute with red cheeks.

Madoka smiles more as Homura explains why she likes physics so much, surprising a giggle at the practicality of it. "That's something that would really help archers and marksmen then, isn't it?" She peeks away from the pages of the book and over to Homura, eyes sparkling a little with mischief. She starts to say something more and then pauses, instead noting, "Though if the arrows were made of something different, that would also affect how they traveled."

Homura's cheek rests on her shoulder, and Madoka turns the final page. Getting closer to the end makes her a little more giddy, but she forces herself to keep reading at a steady pace that allows proper understanding. Then she finishes, closing up the book and leaning forward to set it on the coffee table.

To likely no one's surprise when she sits back her arms slip around Homura, her closer arm going around her shoulders and her further one reaching across in front of her and holding her lightly by the waist, leaning into her warmly and nuzzling cheek to cheek and turning slightly towards her. "Mmm."

The rewards for completing her nightly homework, they are so very sweet.
Homura Akemi 2016-11-20 02:16:37 60923
"W-well, psychology is a new field. It has its... blindspots." Homura's blushing just a little bit more. "... and shortcomings."

Homura tries, she tries really hard, not to wiggle and squirm too much while sitting next to her girlfriend. She mostly succeeds, not because the task is easy, but because Homura's a very disciplined individual! She is, however, anticipating cuddles and not wanting to rush Madoka towards them. It is important that Madoka understands this stuff!

Homura nods simply when Madoka points out that it would be relevant to archers and marksmen, and then again when Madoka implies that her arrows might work differently. "Yeah, it wouldn't exactly be the same. It depends on what the other material would be." Or whether the material had homing capabilities.

As Madoka gets closer to the end of the chapter, Homura shifts once. Just once. Then she immediately feels sorry because she was really trying not to be distracting... but... but cuddles! Cuddles are so close she can almost taste them!

When the book is set down on the coffee table, Homura's arms reach out for her beloved, slipping around Madoka just as Madoka's arms slip around Homura. She nuzzles cheek to cheek with her beloved angel and lets out a deep breath that she didn't realize that she was holding.

"Ah Madoka-chan. The true meaning of the universe is cuddles."
Madoka Akemi 2016-11-20 02:31:36 60924
Homrua's blushing getting stronger makes it a little harder for Madoka to focus, but that just means she has to put more effort into it. Like Homura Madoka is very capable of being disciplined and determined when it's important, and right now it is!

Madoka looks back to Homura briefly and nods when she mentions how the arrows would react depends on their material, somewhat curious to see how her arrows hold up to what Homura would be expecting. Now is a bad time to test it however, because she has something other than magical arrows on her mind. Though magical outfits wouldn't be too bad...

The time for cuddles finally arrives and Madoka is being wrapped up in Homura's arms, just as she'd hoped. She squeezes into Homura and whimpers happily. The softness of her cheek brushes against the softness of Homura's, and it feels so sweet and affectionate. "I agree. The meaning of my universe is cuddling my favorite, beloved Homura-chan." She lets out a happy sigh, closing her eyes and squirming happily against Homura, "Spending any kind of time with you is nice, but spending time cuddling is the best."

Her eyes open back up and soft pink pools turn to stare into beautiful purple, she lets herself get completely lost in them, staring and gazing into them while a look of deep affection fills her own. She squeezes Homura against herself, so obviously in love to anyone who might look at her.
Homura Akemi 2016-11-20 02:45:02 60929
Magical outfits are certainly an option, but they'd have to move to someplace more private. Not that Homura would mind that in the slightest. After all, coming over to Madoka's house practically means committing to spend the rest of the night there anyways, and even staying until breakfast.

Trying to keep her hands to herself and not distract Madoka seems to have paid off, because Madoka did finish her reading, but after all of that time waiting Homura is feeling extra needy. Such warm, soft, Madoka cuddles... so buried in love and affection is Homura that she's starting to forget that there was ever at time at which she suffered.

Homura clings to Madoka and nuzzles, saying, "The meaning of my universe has always been you, and I love getting to cuddle you so much. My dear little angel, I don't know what I'd do without you." She leans forward to press a kiss against Madoka's lips, holding her tight. She doesn't want to get too out of hand while on the couch, but a little bit of kissing should be alright.

She stares deeply into Madoka's pink eyes, admiring and loving what she sees. It wouldn't be hard to guess that Madoka's love was well reciprocated, with the soft and gentle way Homura looks at her. It's a sweet moment, shared by the two girls, and Homura loves every moment of it.

"I love you so much. You're my favorite person. You mean so much to me."

Another kiss is pressed to Madoka's cheek, and then Homura nuzzles that very same cheek.
Madoka Akemi 2016-11-20 03:01:06 60931
Madoka is happy that they're able to spend so much time together, and Homura getting to stay over is a big part of that now. She has little doubt that they'll be snuggling up for sleep together tonight so long as there aren't any emergencies or other sudden things needing taken care of.

Madoka also can't help but notice Homura's extra neediness, and once she does she makes to cuddle her girlfriend extra close, her softness and her warmth felt even through her clothes. She rubs Homura's back and side as she holds her, squirming gently against her while looking into her beautiful eyes.

Her cheeks turn a light shade of pink as Homura says such sweet words to her, and when she's kissed she presses back with gentleness and softness, mmming in quiet delight. She takes in and lets out a breath when their lips part, clearly affected by it. "You don't ever have to worry about what you'd do without me, because you can cuddle me as much and as often as you want, Homura-chan." Her voice is soft and low, sweet and filled with the adoration she so keenly feels.

Being able to so openly express her love is a treasure, and she's very happy her parents don't mind. Maybe some parents would get a little squeamish even when they didn't disapprove, but the Kaname's don't seem to have found any reason to deny their daughter the comfort of openly cuddling and kissing her girlfriend on the couch, nor to sharing words of love with her. "I love you too, Homura-chan. Everything is brighter and happier when you're with me. Even when we're apart I'm happy, because I know I'll get to see you again soon."

She giggles softly as her kissed cheek is nuzzled, returning the nuzzle and then lifting her hand to cup Homura's cheek, her skin soft as she gently brushes the side of her thumb against her face. Looking at her beloved fills her achingly full of affection, and Madoka whimpers again before pressing a soft kiss of her own to Homura's lips.
Homura Akemi 2016-11-20 03:28:16 60934
It would have to be a pretty big emergency to get Homura to leave Madoka at this point. If it was that big it'd be more likely that the two of them would both go to deal with it. Without that, they'll likely be snuggling all night, and Homura has no complaints about that situation! Especially not when Madoka is holding her so sweetly.

Homura giggles as she notices the effect she's had on her beloved, and then awws happily at what Madoka says next. "As often as I want is turning out to be all the time. It can't be helped though, since you're so cuddly."

Homura is very glad that Madoka's parents don't mind, since it's very likely that Homura would have a lot of trouble if she had to completely keep her hands to herself in front of them. As it is though, she gets to cuddle Madoka lots, and doesn't have to worry about it.

"Even knowing that you exist makes me happy. Getting to spend time with you makes me even more so. I love getting to be with you and hold you, my dear sweet Madoka-chan."

Homura enjoys another kiss with her sweet little angel, and mms softly as their lips touch. She cups the side of Madoka's cheek, brushing her fingertips along the side of Madoka's face. Such a sweet and tender moment... Homura loves every bit of it.

After the kiss, Homura pulls only slightly away, so that her lips hover right next to Madoka's, holding Madoka tight and whispering, "You're so good to me, always."

One of her hands moves up to play with Madoka's hair, playfully squishing the fluffiness between her fingers.
Madoka Akemi 2016-11-20 03:45:07 60935
"I want to cuddle with you all the time, too. Falling asleep next to you and waking up with you is so nice, and snuggling with you on the couch is so comfortable." Madoka then giggles softly and gives Homura an almost shy look, twisting a little from side to side in her arms, "I'm glad you think I'm cuddly. You definitely are, too." She proves this by leaning against and squeezing Homura, making a happy sound as her warmth and softness is felt. Yes, very cuddly.

If Madoka's parents objected to the two of them hugging on each other it's pretty likely they'd see a lot less of their daughter. They might not know the reason the two have fallen so deeply in love so quickly, but they certainly recognize that it has; getting between them would only be to their own detriment. Luckily for everyone involved they're not upset by it at all, but rather happy for them.

"I love being with you and being held by you. I love holding you in my arms, too." Madoka closes her eyes and nuzzles her head into Homura's shoulder, smelling her neck and hair to get the scent of her perfume and shampoo before sighing wistfully, "I love seeing you and hearing you and smelling you. And feeling you," she adds a moment later, squeezing Homura close yet again. "I love everything about being with you and near you."

Madoka coos gently as Homura cups her cheek, shivering lightly at the fingers brushing along her face. Her cheeks have warmed to a steady blush, one she's happy and comfortable to wear because she can't help being emotional when such love is being shared between them. She looks into Homura's eyes once more as they cuddle together, feeling Homura's sweet breath wash over her lips, resisting the urge to lean in and kiss her again, and more. They are still on the living room couch, after all!

"I want to be good to you," she whispers back, "I want you to be happy, and know I'm helping make you happy. I want you to be healthy, nurtured, and loved, and I want to give you as much as you need as I possibly can, because I love you."

Madoka mms as her hair is squished and played with, tilting her head a little to let a little more fluffiness tease over Homura's hands. Her own fingers lightly pinch and draw along the lock of hair in front of Homura's ear, and then gently brush over her bangs and across her forehead. Her eyes break from Homura's and she admires all of her girlfriends beautiful face, feeling incredibly lucky to be with someone so gorgeous.

In her chest her sweet little heart can be felt speeding up and going dokidokidoki, because of course it does when focusing on something like that.

Homura giggles and blushes as her girlfriend mentions falling asleep together and waking up together. It's actually something that Homura considers to be one of the best things she gets to do with Madoka. It's no wonder she's so happy around her little angel, so cuddled and loved as she is.

They may have fallen in love quickly, but they've stayed in love for nearly 10 months. Well, actually Homura's loved Madoka for far longer than that, but that's a little hard to explain. They've certainly gone steady, in any case, which is something that Homura's very happy about.

"I love it when you hold me, and when you say sweet things to me, and I love how you're always there for me." She squeezes Madoka close just as she herself is squeezed, happy and warm and feeling affection rise in her voice, so intense that she might cry.

She looks into Madoka's eyes, holding her face close. She nuzzles the tip of her nose against her beloved's, but doesn't go further than that. Being so close to her is so nice, and Homura can't help but enjoy every moment of it.

"I am happy," she whispers back. "I am so, so happy with you. Every moment I spend with you is wonderful. Even if we aren't doing anything cuddly or romantic, just being near you feels so sweet. You've made me happy this whole time, and you've been so good to me. I just want to hold you and love you forever."

Homura sighs happily as she plays with Madoka's fluffy hair, not minding at all when Madoka touches her own. She's glad that Madoka finds her gorgeous, because getting to make Madoka happy is something that Homura wants to do forever.

Homura's own heartrate is jumping up too, only her heart beats like dokadokadoka.

If love is something that burns off quickly if born of mere infatuation than surely Madoka's love has ridden out past that. Rather than a fire that consumes some resource it's something self sustaining, and even self multiplying, because as much as Madoka loves Homura the more she spends time with her, loving her and being loved by her, the more in love she feels.

Hearing Homura get so emotional she might cry gets a soft, "Aww," from Madoka, brushing stray hair behind her darlings ear. She rubs up and down her back several times before rubbing in a small circle between her shoulder blades, comforting her even if it isn't sadness causing it. When squeezed she presses warmly into Homura, enjoying the closeness and the tightness of the embrace.

Madoka smiles as their noses brush together in Eskimo kisses, happy at trading simple romantic affections and gazing into the eyes of the one she loves. Maybe she wouldn't be satisfied if they were standing apart, but snuggled up close like this it's a lovely addition.

"Then I'll keep doing everything I can to keep you happy." She giggles softly, pressing even more firmly into Homura, "You make me happy too. You're just as good to me, taking care of me and loving me and helping me whenever you can." At the mention of wanting to hold and love her forever Madoka can't quite help herself, slipping away from Homura but not far, just enough to stand and half turn before sitting down again. She settles into her girlfriends lap and wraps both arms around her neck and shoulder, squeezing her side close into Homura and pressing a kiss to her cheek.

"Hold me and love me as much as you want. I'm yours as long as you want, forever and ever." Though her heart beats quickly she feels more romantic than excited, leaning close and pressing her forehead lightly to Homura's so those beautiful purple eyes take up almost all of her vision. She stares into them and smiles while pressing close, fingers gently brushing over Homura's shoulder.

"Homura-chan," she quietly speaks, voice filled with love and affection.

Homura's love has only grown as well, though it started out already pretty strong. She wondered if she'd ever get used to cuddling Madoka, but if anything having it as a constant part of her life only makes her enjoy it more. The fact that it's something that Homura can rely upon is... really nice.

Madoka's aww and her comforting back rub draws Homura closer, clinging to Madoka and soaking up that love and comfort. Even if it's not a feeling born out of sadness, it's still soothing a lot of old wounds. This is something Homura needs far more than she ever knew.

"Well you're doing a really good job so far!" Homura's voice is a little playful, and she giggles before speaking again. "If I'm making you as happy as you make me, then that just makes me happier still. I can't help but want to take care of you and help you and be there for you. I love you so much. You're my everything."

When Madoka gets up, Homura watches her curiously, wondering what her beloved wants to do next. There's very little reason for them to go anywhere unless it's to find another place to cuddle. All becomes a lot more clear when Madoka sits down on her lap, and Homura holds her there and returns the kiss to the cheek. Now closer, Homura can hold her tighter, and so she does.

At the offer to love and hold Madoka as much as she wants, Homura giggles. "Then I will. As much as I want. Forever and ever. You can hold me and love me as much as you want, too. I'm always happy to be with you." She presses her forehead against Madoka's looking deep into her eyes. As her shoulders are brushed she squirms a little and shrugs.

     She sighs happily. "Oh, Madoka-chan."

Being able to rely upon cuddling with someone she loves is very nice. Even if it was a rare treat it would be something Madoka looked forward to, but it's a treat she gets to enjoy every day, and it's never become any less wonderful. In fact it might even have gotten better. True, it was amazing finding out just how wonderful cuddling her girlfriend was, but now their cuddles are more refined, and Madoka knows how to snuggle into Homura to make the both of them happiest and most comfortable. That can hardly be discounted!

If Homura needs comfort Madoka is more than happy to give it to her, whether it's in the form of backrubs, hairpets, reassuring words, or loving caresses. Though she loves being cutesy and cuddly she's entirely capable of being gentle and maternal if the situation calls for it, and comforting her sweetie is reason enough.

Madoka's pink cheeks brighten as Homura calls her her everything, happily embarrassed by such sweet words. "You do, you take very good care of me and help me, and you've been there for me even before I realized it. I'll never doubt your love for me, because you've proven it to me over and over." That might be a little confusing to her parents if they overheard it, but it's also something that could be brushed off as lovey-dovey hyperbole. In this case it really isn't, though; Madoka just can't be more specific in the living room.

Though her room is always available for snuggling together on the bed, the couch is perfectly serviceable for most cuddling needs. It is, in fact, even better for sitting in her girlfriends lap, and so Madoka only moves far enough to do just that. Being held closer is immediate justification too, and Madoka smiles brightly as she's held tight.

"I can't," Madoka says when Homura returns the offer to be held as much as she wants, pouting playfully with a sparkle in her eyes, "I have to go to school and volunteer and work, too." Her voice is childishly pouty, and lasts only long enough to say that before a bright smile shows on her lips again. When Homura squirms she rocks a little back and forth, drawing Homura into a side to side motion by holding tightly into her.

    "My love~."

Homura and Madoka certainly have a lot of cuddling experience! One might even say that they are cuddling experts. Leaders of their field. Captains of the cuddle industry! One might say that, but it'd be very silly, because it's not as if cuddling is a big field of research.

Though maybe it should be! After all, it's important to pursue your passions, and right now both Homura and Madoka have a lot of passion for cuddling.

Madoka's cutesy side is certainly something that Homura finds irresistible, but judging from the way she nuzzles against Madoka's shoulder and buries her eyes into her neck, Homura also really appreciates the more maternal and nurturing side of her beloved too. After a moment she sighs happily, and pulls away to look her beloved in the eyes. She didn't end up crying, but she did end up feeling very happy.

"Well, it's easy for me to prove it when it's so true," says Homura. "I have so much love for you that I can barely contain it. It would be hard to hide it at this rate, not that I need to." She doesn't get into specifics either, because living room, but both of them know just how much each other means it, and how far they'd go for each other.

Madoka is always welcome to sit in Homura's lap, as far as Homura's concerned, and she's more than happy to justify it immediately. It only makes it easier for Homura to hold her girlfriend close while sitting, after all.

Homura raises her eyes and makes an amused smile at Madoka's playful pouting, giggling as the pout becomes a smile. Homura moves along with the rocking motion, enjoying that along with the feeling of holding Madoka in her arms.

    "My little angel~."

Madoka is happy to be a leader in the field of cuddling, even if all her experience and skill is benefited only by Homura. After all, Homura is exactly the person she'd want it to benefit. She certainly is passionate about cuddling up with her girlfriend, whether it's on the couch, the dance floor, or in bed.

It also makes Madoka happy that Homura appreciates both her cute and nurturing sides; both are an important part of who she is. Though it wouldn't upset her if Homura cried because she was happy hearing the sounds of crying might attract her father, and that would require embarrassing explaining. That kind of emotional intensity isn't something she needs to hide from her parents, but it's not really something she wants to share in front of them.

"Your love is so wonderful, I'm happy to bask in it as long as you want to show it. I love the way you look at me, the way you hold me in your arms." She snuggles into Homura more, closing her eyes briefly while squeezing close.

Rocking back and forth and looking into Homura's eyes makes Madoka very happy, and her eyes sparkle prettily. It's easy for them to show love and joy when so much is welling up inside of her. It's also not hard to feel so loving and joyful, held close in her beloved's arms. Called by her pet name once more Madoka releases with one arm, holding extra tight with the remaining one, brushing her fingers along Homura's jaw before lifting her chin slightly, so she can press another sweet kiss to her lips.

It's evenings like this that make her life so incredible.
