It's a warm evening towards the end of summer with scattered clouds in the sky. The days are now shorter than they used to be and the nights longer as the hottest season begins it's descent and change into fall. The sun is still above the horizon, the sky above starting to darken and in the distance beginning to show the first signs of color, reds and purples very slowly creeping into the blue.
Up on the roof terraceof the third floor two armless lounge chairs have been set up with their backs tilted slightly upward and pushed together. A small table beside them has a pair of cups and a plate set upon it, one cup is filled with lemonade and the other with soda while the plate holds baby carrots, short cut sticks of celery and a some octopus cut sausages.
Madoka walks out onto the terrace holding a light, folded up blanket. She sets it next to the lounge chairs before moving around and climbing onto the one near the food and drinks, scooting over to the inner edge of the chair to make herself very easily accessible from the other one. "It's just about time, Homura-chan!" she calls back into the house, giving a happy stretch before relaxing back onto the chair.
She's wearing a simple, light summer getup, a light yellow sleeveless top with thin white straps but a modest neckline, matched with a light and airy white skirt. Perfect for summer, but perhaps a bit chilly once it starts to cool off. That blanket might be necessary if she stays out long after the sun has gone down.
Or maybe there's another way for her to keep warm..?
"I'm coming!" comes Homura's voice from inside. The veteran Puella stands before a mirror over a sink, brushing out long locks of black hair, making sure that she looks beautiful for her dear sweet Madoka-chan. She's wearing a thin flowing dress the color of pale, pale violet, almost indistinguishable from white unless one takes a good look at it. A white sash ties around her waist, adding distinct form to her otherwise loose dress. She examines her face from several angles in the mirror, giving herself one more glance over before she places the brush down and heads out.
When she walks out onto the roof terrace, she walks behind the chairs, to the open one, and sits on the inside edge, brushing against Madoka as she seats. She leans against Madoka's shoulder, resting the side of her head on a fluffy pigtail, and looks up at the clouds in the sky.
Homura hums happily and closes her eyes, nuzzling against Madoka. When she opens them again, she whispers, "So pretty~."
Loving purple eyes are focused entirely on Madoka when she says that.
She reaches for the table, picking up a baby carrot and nibbling on it while keeping her eyes on Madoka. Between bites, she says, "School's starting up soon. I can hardly wait to cuddle you on Infinity's rooftop. We can bring bentos and feed each other and..." She can't help but start giggling, because while it's nothing they haven't done before such romantic niceties are something that never gets old to her. She loves sharing such things with Madoka, and she doesn't feel any need to hide it.
Homura will keep you warm, Madoka-chan! If she has her say in it, she'll start by warming your cheeks!
Madoka smiles as she hears Homura call back to her. Her own hair arranged for maximum cuteness, which means it's up in fluffy twintails tied with her favorite red ribbons. She's looking up at the sky when Homura comes out, looking over to her as she's sitting down and blinking slightly.
Why Homura, you only had to appear to warm Madoka's cheeks!
Seeing Homura's pretty violet, off-white dress and the beautify of her flowing black hair makes her suddenly feel under dressed! She's quietly shy for a moment, only to sigh happily as Homura nuzzles her, her pigtail squishing enjoyably against the side of her head. "Ehehe," she laughs as purple eyes focus on her. "It is isn't it?" she asks, pretending not to understand Homura's meaning, "I'm not sure what happened but it suddenly got a lot more beautiful out here." She smiles happily to Homura, shifting on her chair so her side brushes lightly against Homura's, close but not quite cuddled up.
Yet.
"We're going to be a lot busier once school is back in session... but it will be nice getting to cuddle on the roof!" She giggles along with Homura, "Papa always makes my bentos extra large so I can share." She presses her side into Homura, watching her nibble on her baby carrot. When she's finished with it Madoka picks up a sausage, dangling it up above Homura's mouth and twists it from side to side so it's little legs dance and bounce just above her lips. She really likes feeding her girlfriend, too! Why else would the plate be full of finger foods?
Operation Warm Cheeks is a complete success, carried out with the level of efficiency befitting of a Contractor! Homura takes no small amount of pride in making an already super cute Madoka even more cute by getting her to blush, and she's even more proud that she even has such a wonderful girlfriend in the first place.
Homura certainly doesn't mind looking lovely for her sweet little angel, especially not when Madoka has such cute reactions to it. Madoka is more than worth the effort to her, and she always has been. She giggles at the comment of it getting more beautiful, saying, "Maybe it's the beauty of our love, and the tender affections we share. Maybe our sweet feelings for each other are improving the view?"
The baby carrot is finished as if it had never stood a chance, and then Madoka is offering her a sausage. The legs wiggle in such an adorable way and Homura smiles. She tilts her head back and opens her mouth wide, sliding teeth around those octopus legs and biting into the body. She draws it in, closing her lips around Madoka's fingers and sucking on them before pulling back to chew.
With a sly look in her eyes, she reaches for a bit of celery and holds it close to Madoka's lips. "Your dad really is a nice cook. You really do have such a wonderful family. My food might not be as good, but I'll be sure to bring something nice for you, Madoka-chan."
Granted, whatever Homura brings is probably something that she made herself. In the past it'd have been fast food of some sort, but she might have the ulterior motive of making something nice for Madoka to eat.
"That must be it," Madoka replies while looking into Homura's purple eyes, "I must love you so much that everything around us gets more beautiful whenever you're next toe me." She turns her head slightly, brushing her warm, pink cheek against Homura's while smiling happily, nuzzling her beautiful girlfriend while enjoying her company.
The sausage is taken from her and Madoka's fingers get kisses as well! She giggles happily, watching as the little legs and then rest of the sausage disappears into Homura's mouth. Sausage octopuses are tasty as well as cute! And fairly easy to make too, once you learn the trick it. The feeding is then reciprocated, Madoka wrapping her lips around the celery stick, holding it in place with her teeth playfully before taking a bite out of it and pulling it away. A quick peek is taken of it and her teeth return, carefully nibbling off a couple of remaining celery strings. One must be careful with certain vegetables!
"They've been wonderful to me," Madoka agrees about her family. She then giggles softly, "I'm sure whatever you make me will be delicious Homura-chan, especially if you made it just for the two of us to share." With a happy sigh she finally pulls her soft pink eyes away from Homra's, turning her eyes towards the setting sun. It's momentarily disappeared behind some low, wispy clouds, and the sky is starting to color with reds and purples, intermixed with the greys of the clouds.
"It's going to be a beautiful sunset tonight," Madoka comments, thinking to herself for a moment before adding, "I wonder if Mamoru-kun is watching on his roof." She almost considers sending him a text so he doesn't miss it, but decides for the moment to leave him alone, instead sliding her arm around Homura's shoulders and leaning her head into her girlfriends a bit more closely.
"It must be!" agrees Homura, "The world is a more beautiful place with you in it, and everywhere you go is more wonderful because you're there. There's always more color, more life, more to cherish when you're around, because you are the one I will always love."
Madoka bites the celery stick, and Homura's eyes overflow with adoration. After Madoka retracts from the bite, Homura playfully takes it to her own mouth and takes a bite out of it, both for the fun of sharing food with Madoka and for the fun of getting an indirect kiss.
The sunset is lovely, and it doesn't escape Homura's notice. Reds and purples playing together in the sky amongst wispy clouds, momentarily stealing the sun's light and hiding it away. Yet as lovely as it is, it's even more so because of whom Homura gets to share it with. "I'd like to do that. I don't usually cook, but I don't mind doing it for you."
At the comment on the sunset, and particularly about Mamoru, Homura smiles. "It was very sweet of you to think of him. I know Kyouko-san hasn't always gotten along with either of us, but his family is so important to him and now she's a part of it. I know he's your friend too, but it means a lot to me that you'd do something like that."
Homura wraps an arm around Madoka, leaning against her and nuzzling against her. "It only justifies me loving you, though. You've always been kind, and you've always thought about others."
Her other hand holds the last bite of celery right up to Madoka's lips, wiggling it in front of her.
Madoka smiles brightly to Homura, turning her head and pressing a kiss to her cheek. "Then I'd better do my best to be around you all the time so the world is always a wonderful and beautiful place for you to live in!" Her smile fades to something more gentle, "Loving you has shown me the very best the world has to offer. I always thought there were many amazing things worth protecting but now I know I must have been underestimating them."
When Homura takes a bite out of the celery stick Madoka pretends to be scandalized, giving a tiny gasp and covering her mouth before giggling again and pressing into her girlfriend's side.
As Homura looks into the sunset Madoka peeks over at her, viewing the scenery in the reflections of her girlfriends beautiful eyes. The sunset is truly beautiful, but is it more beautiful in it's own splendor or as a lovely accent to the purple of Homura's eyes? "The things you've made for me have been good," she encourages. Sure they might have been simple, but you have to start somewhere and that didn't make them less tasty.
Madoka smiles bashfully as Mamoru and Kyouko are mentioned. "I'm really glad she's able to have such a loving and caring family as Mamoru's. She's always been protective of the people she cares about, so I think she'll fit in very well."
Her eyes go back to the sunset, staring off into the brilliant colors as the sun dips low enough to light up the undersides of the clouds in pinks and reds. "She deserves a chance to be happy... they all do," Madoka replies. "It's true we haven't always gotten along, but if she's making a commitment like that I can't help but think she's changed for the better. With all she's been through she must have been hurting a whole lot, but maybe now she can look forward to her future and not have to worry about her past anymore."
The nuzzling is happily returned and Madoka lets out a happy sigh, some of Homura's hair brushing near the back of her neck while her pigtail brushes against Homura's ear. "It must mean so much to them both, to have real families again. If there's even a little thing I can do to make it that much happier for them it's something I should do."
The celery stick is held in front of her and Madoka takes it gently from Homura with her lips, biting it lightly with her teeth afterward so her lips can press forward and kiss the tips of Homura's fingers.
Underestimating them? Homura blushes lightly at first, only for that blush to gradually glow more brightly as time goes on. She had intended to shower Madoka with love and affection, as she tends to do, but in terms of compliments Madoka's giving as good as she gets. Not that Homura's complaining~.
Before her tone was playful and romantic, but now with her cheeks turning pink that tone has been replaced with one of seriousness and sincerity. "Loving you has been the best thing that's ever happened to me, and it gets better every day. There is a lot in the world worth protecting, and you've shown me that, but most of all I think I love sharing my life with you."
Homura nuzzles against Madoka's cheek, and then turns her head to kiss where she nuzzled. "If you were trying to put me in a happy mood, you've succeeded."
"Thank you," says Homura, with regards to her cooking. "I do try, especially when it's for you."
Homura's eyes sparkle as she notices Madoka's bashfulness, listening intently to her words, Madoka's voice being like music to her ears. She glances off towards the sunset, mouth twisting into something that isn't quite a frown but not exactly a smile either. "A lot of Kyouko's... difficult nature has been because of that pain. She's always been such a lone wolf, so if she's even allowing herself to be tied down then they must really mean something to her."
Not that Homura is surprised by that. Mamoru's been a good friend to a lot of people, Homura included, and Kyouko wouldn't see him as competition over Grief Seeds.
She looks back at Madoka, loving smile and affectionate eyes aimed directly at her. "I'm happy you feel that way, and I'm happy that we get to add to their joy. It may seem small, but it's the little things that count."
A warm flush sets onto Homura's cheeks and Madoka smiles softly to herself when she notices it. Her intention wasn't to flatter Homura but if her sincere thoughts flatter her and make her blush so cutely she certainly won't mind~.
That smile persists as Homura speaks in such a serious tone, and though the intentional romantic lilt may be gone there's no denying the romanticism in the words themselves. "Every day we spend together is a day worth protecting and a day worth fighting for. The more time I spend with you the more I want to spend with you, and that only seems to get more and more true. If protecting the world to protect our love and time together means we're protecting other people and their love as well then it isn't even a burden either, it's just something worth doing."
It's almost as if Homura reads her mind as her cheek is nuzzled, and Madoka's smile widens happily, rubbing her cheek into the warmth of Homura's. A sweet kiss is given to her cheek and she sighs in enjoyment, turning her head to look at Homura, "Good! My Homura-chan deserves to be happy~." There's a lilt in her voice as she speaks, and she leans in to press a soft kiss to Homura's lips.
The thanks given for the compliment gets Homura a small nod and a squeeze of Madoka's arm around her, "That's why I want to try to make you happy too; you've always tried your hardest for me."
Mamoru did a lot for Madoka as well, and even if Kyouko had once upon a time scared her out of her wits that doesn't mean she'd want to keep the redheaded Puella from his kindness. If anything the pain she's been through entitles her to it more than anyone. After all, Madoka has found so much comfort and solace in her love for Homura and the same is true in reverse. If becoming a sworn guard, protector, and family member of Mamoru can help her she most certainly should be just that.
She doesn't really have any angst over worries about Kyouko seemingly garnering more favor with him either. Considering how torn up Homura was when she thought he was dead she wonders if her girlfriend might have just a pinch, but at the same time she couldn't see either of them truly fitting in where Kyouko is now.
After all, the one Madoka is going to protect above all others is always going to be Homura.
"It felt right," she replies to Homura, looking back to her and gazing into her eyes, enjoying and soaking up the feeling of being looked at so lovingly herself. "It might not be the same kind of happiness we have, but I hope they can all be a little closer to as happy as we are." Her face smoothes out as her expression returns to something more neutral, "It's something both of them have been fighting for for a long time, too. Maybe Kyouko-san made some mistakes but everyone does, and she's also done a lot of good, too."
Madoka scoots closer still to Homura, shifting slightly downward so she can rest her head on her girlfriends shoulder for a few moments, "I've always had an amazing family and people to look out for me. For a long time neither Mamoru-kun or Kyouko-san had that, but now they both do and they can be that for each other."
Sincerity can sometimes be more flattering than intentional flattery, especially when that sincerity is known, and Homura knows it.
Not even a burden? Homura considers. "I don't really think of it as a burden either. It's what I've chosen to do with my life. While there might be other things I could be doing, the fact is that I chose to do this over anything else. I do think it's worth doing, and I think you are worth it most of all."
Her lips are kissed, and she returns the kiss, because there's never a moment when she doesn't want to kiss Madoka. Then she giggles at what Madoka says next. "Another feedback loop? I try to make you happy so you make me happy in return? We have a lot of those, don't we?"
Homura might be worried if Kyouko was trying to shove Mamoru away from her, or spoil their friendship in some way, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Kyouko's been pursuing that relationship with Mamoru and Homura has been pursuing her relationship with Madoka. Both of them are getting exactly what they wanted, and neither of them are really losing.
Besides, Homura has her own family too, and even if it isn't official she takes comfort in the fact that it one day will be. As much as she considers Mamoru to be like a brother, Homura doesn't think she could ever really be one of the Shitennou. There's a certain level of dedication that group has to their prince, and Homura's dedication belongs to Madoka and Madoka alone. She considers the promises she exchanged with Madoka to be binding, and has from the moment she made them.
That said, as much as Madoka may take the top spot in Homura's heart, there's no denying the fact that she would kill for Mamoru.
"It's not exactly the same, but in some ways it's similar. It's a love-based relationship, and a committed one. They each have something that the other needs, and that isn't always romance or affection. Sometimes it's just support, or knowing that someone has your back."
Madoka's head is on Homura's shoulder, and Homura's arm behind Madoka's back squeezes her close. "I think between Mamoru and Kyouko, having a family is what they want most of all, especially after their loved ones were torn away from them so violently. Especially after being alone for so long. I think they can provide that for each other. Our love is different from theirs, but we have different needs, and we fulfill them pretty well."
Homura kisses the top of Madoka's head, then rests her cheek where she kissed, moving her head between fluffy pink pigtails. "For one, I don't think either of them are as in need of cuddles as we are."
Homura is given another squeeze when she tells Madoka she's worth it most of all, and the pink-haired girl smiles, "I'm glad you do. I know you'd have done everything for me even if you didn't think it was worth it, but makes me really happy that you don't think of it as a burden either." She giggles softly, "Getting to protect everything with you makes it a lot more fun, too."
Is it another feedback loop? It certainly seems that way! Madoka hums happily, "That's a reason why our love is so good. We care about each other and we both want our partner to be as happy as we are."
Madoka is very thankful for Homura's dedication to her. She knows how deep that dedication runs, and Homura's proven it a thousand times over and probably more. Maybe that all is focused upon her, but she also knows that Homura would go a long way to protect her friends. It's one more thing that Madoka loves about her; Homura is always there for her friends when they need her and even when that need leads her into danger she doesn't seem to so much as flinch.
"I'm glad they've found it. They have each other, and Mamoru-kun has his brothers, and Kyouko-san has Momo-chan. If they can all be one big family together I'll be very happy for them." Madoka then blinks, head tilting slightly into Homura's shoulder. A moment later she giggles, "Something tells me Mamoru-kun's apartment is going to be really full this Thanksgiving! I don't think I can ask Papa to cook for that many people though! Though maybe if he gets a bit of extra help he could, ehehehe."
Madoka shifts and rolls up onto her side as Homura squeezes her, cozying up to her and reaching across to hold onto her at the waist. "I hope they can," she agrees. "Provide what they need for each other, I mean." A blush warms her cheeks again as Homura says they fulfill each other's needs, closing her eyes and nuzzling her cheek against Homura's shoulder while smiling. "That's because you are what I need, Homura-chan~."
Her eyes open back up as the top of her head is kissed, and she looks out to the beautiful sunset. She feels Homura's head on her own and her pigtails being ruffled, and everything feels so happy and comfortable. She giggles softly, "I need cuddles a whole lot! Your cuddles especially." Both of her arms squeeze around Homura and she makes a tiny shake of her head, trying not to disturb Homura's in the process, "I don't think I'd be happy even with lots and lots of cuddles if they weren't yours."
"It is fun!" agrees Homura. "Protecting the city with you is the most fun I think I could ever have fighting youma! Looking out for each other, and being with each other... I don't think I've ever had a partner I could trust more, that I could have more faith in, that I could rely on as much as you." She giggles. "It probably helps that we've been working together more than we have in any other timeline."
"Getting to know you, and being this close to you..." Homura's smile softens, as do her eyes. "... it's so rewarding. I love it. I want it to last forever."
Homura does have more friends than she's used to having, and they have been there for her so many times, and her for them. It's the way she'd have things work all the time, if she had a choice.
Thanksgiving? Madoka brings that up, and Homura blinks. Then she blushes, looking away. She was... she was stalking Madoka that day.
Well, actually Madoka would know that by now. Homura's temporary embarrassment is completely unjustified now that she thinks about it. She turns her gaze back to Madoka. "That was a lot of fun, wasn't it? I really liked spending that time with you." She giggles. "Things were so different back then. It'd be nice if it was extra busy this year in order to make up for last year."
Actually, now that she thinks about it... "That whole time, he had three whole empty apartments, in addition to the one he used, just waiting for the brothers that he never knew he had. Those apartments are filled now, so it really will be busier."
At the mention of cooking, Homura looks a little sheepish. "I... wouldn't mind helping, if he really did do that. I wouldn't want to get in his way, but..."
'That's because you are what I need, Homura-chan~'
Homura looks into Madoka's eyes, tilting her head as her smile turns gently bright. "Then you'll always have what you need, Madoka-chan, because I'm yours forever, and I'll always have what I need, because all I need is you."
Homura giggles, especially as Madoka's hair tickles her face! "I don't know if I'd be happy if I couldn't cuddle you. I certainly wouldn't want to cuddle anyone else the way we do."
Madoka giggles happily as Homura agrees with her sentiment. "I don't think there's anyone I'd rather have as my partner than you, Homura-chan. I know I can always trust you to be there for me and back me up, and I also know you'll trust me when I come to help you." She smiles happily, "We have, and we're only going to work together more and more. I hope I can be even better as your partner!"
When Homura's expression softens Madoka cozies up to her on their lounge chares, hugging onto her gently with both arms. "You deserve something at least this rewarding," she replies in a half teasing voice. When she speaks again it's softer and more serious, "I love getting to spend so much time with you. Seeing the way you work and watching you grow as you learn to run your own company... it makes me so happy to be right here beside you, supporting you."
Homura blushes and looks away and Madoka can't help but find that adorable, and so she leans in and presses a soft kiss to Homura's blushing cheek. "It was. Getting everyone together and spending time together was nice, even if things were a little tense. This year everyone has a lot more to be happy about, too. Mamoru-kun and Usagi-chan are safe, Kyouko-san is a member of the Shitennou now." She leans in, moving her face a little closer to Homura's and saying quietly, "We have each other..."
The empty apartments are mention and Madoka nods, "He was missing them before he even knew they were there. It's a little sad... but it's much more happy now that those apartments are full! It's so wonderful they were able to save them all."
Madoka giggles happily then, wiggling a little as she sees Homura looking sheepish. Her girlfriend is so cute! Sometimes she just can't help but wiggle around giddily. "I'm sure you wouldn't get in his way, Homura-chan! I think Papa would be very happy if you wanted to help him, especially if it was such a big meal." A bit sheepishly herself she adds, "I could help prepare things too, though I'm not very good at the cooking."
Happy tingly feelings wash gently over Madoka as Homura looks into her eyes, and she squeezes her once more about the shoulder and waist. "Aren't we lucky, to have exactly what we need in each other?"
She giggles a lot more then, at the mention of not wanting to cuddle other people the way they cuddle each other, "All my romantic cuddles belong to you, Homura-chan! I need to make sure I get all of yours too. I think I'm going to start a collection!" She looks playfully up to Homura before shaking her head, tickling her with her hair on purpose and pressing into her side, squirming and wiggling while saying in a high, teasing voice, "Give me your cuddles! I have to have them! I want them all~!"
Homura shakes her head, having the side-effect of nuzzling against Madoka. "Me either. You're the best I could ever have. You're already a wonderful partner, in so many ways, and I hope that I can be even better for you, too."
Watching Homura grow...? Certainly she did have some talent to lead when she started. The severe practicality she learned as a Puella Magi has actually helped her out a lot in the business world, but she still had to change a lot as a person. There were a whole slew of problems that she had never dealt with before, things that really mattered that she had now clue on. She likes to think that she's at least a bit more understanding to the needs of those who work under her, and knows a bit better how to treat people.
"I guess I feel the same about you. You've grown a lot more confident in yourself as a person, and the more you fight the more I get to see you as the beautiful heroine I first saw you as. No... actually, you're more than that now, even better." She kisses her beloved on the cheek. "You truly do have a heart of gold."
Things really are different this year, and so amazingly so. It's wondeful. The last thing Madoka mentions puts butterflies in Homura's stomach when she thinks about it. "We do..." After a moment, she chuckles. "Things will be a lot less tense, I think. At the very least, we all know each other a bit better."
"Missing them? Yeah, he was, but he was also waiting for them. Preparing, though he didn't even know it." Homura reminisces to times back then, and some of the choices she made. "I do some pretty extreme things sometimes, don't I?"
Madoka's wiggling coaxes a tighter hug out of Homura, because Madoka's being cute and Homura can't help herself. "If he wouldn't mind, I think it'd be a good learning experience, and it wouldn't be fair to expect him to do all of that by himself."
"We are lucky. So, so lucky. We fit so perfectly well together, like two halves of a whole."
Homura contemplates and considers what a cuddle collection could consist of, and cackles at the concept. "Well of course you can have all my cuddles!" The other arm comes around Madoka's front, and both arms squeeze her close to Homura. She kisses Madoka on the cheek, because of course that was going to happen, and whispers into her ear. "... and I'm going to take all of yours."
"You are! You're better and better for me every day," Madoka assures with a smile. She giggles softly as Homura tells her how she's changed, blushing suddenly when she's called even better than when Homura first met her so very long ago. She shyly accepts the kiss on the cheek and smiles, "I have a lot to be confident about. I'm able to protect innocent people from danger, I was able to save the one I care about most, and somehow I've managed to catch the most beautiful and most loving girlfriend I could ever find."
Madoka suddenly laughs, because tense is close to the last thing she'd expect a Thanksgiving dinner to be and that's a big surprise when compared to the year before. "You're right! We still might have some differences between us, but with everything that's happened I'm sure we can have one day to celebrate together happily. After all, all of us have a whole lot to be thankful for."
The comment on doing extreme things gets an embarrassed little laugh, "Eheheh... sometimes you do, but I think that's only when you've decided something extreme is necessary." Implied in the statement is that Madoka trusts Homura's judgment, so if she thinks it was necessary Madoka agrees that it was.
Tighter hugs are a reward, and rewarding wiggly behavior is a sure way to encourage more wiggles! Madoka presses into Homura and smiles, arms pulling her girlfriend so very close. As beautiful as the sunset is tonight, Madoka seems to have totally forgotten it in favor of the beauty of the girl next to her. "Then I'll ask him! I might have to see if that's something Mamoru-kun wants to do first," it would be awfully presumptive otherwise, "but if he does I'll ask! Maybe we could host something ourselves if he'd rather have something quiet or more personal." Because throwing a huge Thanskgiving bash at the home of an introvert might spoil the holiday for the host himself.
Like two halves of a whole? Now that's just inviting to find out exactly how well they fit together. Madoka's wiggling slows, and she instead squirms for a moment, carefully gathering herself before lifting, rolling, and then settling happily down on top of Homura, situating herself a little lower so she can easily rest her head on her shoulder.
It makes it all the easier for her to hear Homura's hearty laughing, and she smiles brightly, pressing down into her girlfriend as she's squeezed, "Yay, so many cuddles from Homura-chan!" The kiss to the cheek puts a sweet smile on her face, and the whisper in her ear gets a very playful giggle, "All of them, Homura-chan?" Her voice turns play-serious, "Are you sure you can handle all of my cuddles? I have so very many of them to give! It might take you a very long time to get them all."
Homura sighs happily as Madoka says that she is at least two reasons why her little angel is so confident. "You say such nice things to me, but I have a lot to be confident about, too. I have the most wonderful and adorable girlfriend, and I got to save her." Her lips move closer to Madoka's ear, as she whispers, "... and I get to keep her, too."
Homura playfully giggles, kicking her feet off the edge of the lounge chair. "We do! I'm thankful for my beloved, my girlfriend, and my little angel. I'm also thankful for my dear sweetheart and I'm especially thankful for you~."
Only when necessary... yeah, well, it usually was, and she usually had very little time to decide that. "I guess so, though out of context it probably seems so ridiculous." She smirks, "Though, while I may have made mistakes along the way, I'm very happy about the way things turned out. I get to be with you, and I couldn't ask for a better outcome than that."
Homura thought that she might get distracted from the beauty of the sunset, because in the end the beauty of their love is far more captivating. If Madoka thinks that sunsets like this just can't compare to Homura, then that's quite a flattering compliment!
"Eheh. We should ask first. We didn't ask the first time because he was in hiding, but this time around it'd be more fun if he was there." Her shoulders shrug, which have the effect of pressing them closer to Madoka. "If he doesn't want to, well... my house is pretty huge. We could have it there."
Suddenly Madoka is in Homura's lap, and Homura has no complaints! Her arms don't release Madoka, and once her darling settles in Homura holds her close and tight. "My dear, I love you."
There's a glint in Homura's eye, and her smile shows teeth. "Yes. All of them. All of your cuddles, and your kisses, and your love. We have all the time in the world, and if that's not enough I'll stop the clock and we can cuddle even more."
"That's good, because she needs to be kept close and safe. She might not be helpless without you but I bet she's a whole lot happier while you have her~." Madoka giggles as Homura kicks her feet, "I'm glad I get to be one of the things you're thankful for." Then she gasps playfully, "Oh, I'm all of those things! All of those things are me!" She takes in a breath and lets it out as a happy sigh, "My Homura-chan loves me so very much. I don't know how I could be happier~."
Madoka nods at the note of being happy with how things turned out, "They turned out so well for the two of us. I couldn't ask for a better ending than this, especially not when the ending is really only just the beginning." She looks at Homura and for a few moments does nothing more than admire her, alive and happy and with so much to look forward to in life. That alone would be a happy ending, but the fact that Madoka herself is one of the things that makes her happy and that she has to look forward to makes it a perfectly happy one.
Madoka squeezes onto Homura as her shoulders press into her, "It'd be fun to host it at your house, too. It'd probably be safe too, with the people we'd invite." Considering that some of the fallout of the Walpurgisnacht meeting was the wrong people, or person, learning where Homura lived it's something not to take lightly.
"I love you too," Madoka whispers back, sounding pleased and happy as if she was enjoying a particularly good stretch, her words ending in something close to a sigh. She's held closely and there's little more she could possibly want in the moment, enjoying those very cuddles they're teasing each other about.
"You already have all of my love, Homura-chan," Madoka replies. She looks up and sees that pretty smile, her own lips curling upwards. The mention of stopping time for more cuddles draws a giggle from her, and she shifts again, rubbing against Homura a bit from the closeness of their hug while drawing herself up just a little further. "I have a lot of kisses, too." Her voice is soft, and she adoringly looks over Homura's pretty face, and then into her eyes. "If you want all of them we'd better get started~." Still smiling she tilts her head up, pressing her lips softly forward into Homura's, letting out a happy sigh as if she'd just slipped into a bath drawn to the perfect temperature.
Homura giggles at Madoka's playful response. "Yes, that's right. You're my everything. You're everything I'm grateful for~. And I love you so, so much, and if that makes you happy then I'll love you with all my heart."
This ending is just the beginning? "Yes, that's right. We have so much more happiness and love ahead of us. So many wonderful things, sweet moments, and tender affections." With an impish smile, she adds, "and by 'tender affections' I of course mean cuddles."
In a lower voice, she mutters, though Madoka is close enough to hear it. "This really is a happily ever after."
Homura snerks, and then her expression is a mix of laughter and surprise. "I am most certainly not going to invite Agera-san to my house!"
Though, now that Madoka mentions it, that might be a realistic concern. "I mean... Most of the people should be fairly safe. I don't think I have any enemies there. Though I do think that his apartment is a bit more of a familiar locale for everyone involved."
After a moment's thought, Homura adds, "... It really is a uniquely safe location. It has high Virtue traffic, and there are at least some number of magical boys plus friends sleeping there at any time."
'You already have all of my love, Homura-chan,'
Homura reaches up to touch the side of Madoka's face, brushing aside fluffy locks of pink hair as her nails move behind Madoka's ears. She scritches Madoka lightly as she says, "It's true, I do, and you have all of mine."
Kisses are mentioned, and Homura only says, "Well then we had better get started." Lips touch, and Homura pushes her lips against Madoka's. She breaks, only kiss again and again, and then hold it.
As playful as it is Madoka knows that what Homura says is true. Maybe she's not the only thing Homura cares about, but if she wasn't there all the rest would stop mattering. She knows it because she feels the exact same way. "It does make me happy. You make me happy, and all the love your sweet heart can hold makes me happiest of all."
Homura talking about many wonderful things lying ahead of them makes Madoka eager to see them, to do new things and enjoy the rest of her life with Homura. But as eager as she might be she can't help but enjoy this single moment for all the joy it holds all on it's own. She giggles happily then, nuzzling her head firmly into Homura's shoulder, "Yay, cuddles!"
A flush of embarrassment shows on Madoka's face as Homura directly mentions Takashi. Well, it most certainly was him that caused the trouble afterwards! "Eheheh... It would be nice if I could say we could trust him, but there's no way we can. He'd have to change a whole lot and realize hurting people on purpose is no way to change the world."
It's certainly true though that Mamoru's place is both well known and highly guarded. It might not quite be a fortress but anyone wanting to cause trouble there would either have t be overwhelmingly powerful or really, really fast! "It's also where we ended up last year," Madoka notes. "I guess it doesn't have to be there, but it would be nostalgic."
Homura's hand goes to the side of her face and Madoka leans into the touch, closing her eyes to enjoy Homura's fingers tracing behind her ear, lips curling up into a smile as she's scritched. Her eyes open back up and find Homura's before whispering, "My beloved guardian angel Homura-chan."
The sweet affection of Homura's lips pressing into hers fills Madoka with contentment, and after the kiss breaks she eagerly accepts the next kisses from Homura. Each kiss she presses back in return is different, first firm and needy, then so tenderly gentle that her lips squish softly against Homura's when they meet, and then with steady, even pressure. With every kiss her eyes focus on Homura's, looking up into the beautiful purple depths of the one who has such a firm hold on her heart. Even while squeezing tightly with one arm she slides the other out from under Homura so she can reach up to cup her beloved's face, palm gently holding her cheek while her fingers brush gently across her forehead and temple.
When the final kiss is pressed to her lips and held Madoka makes a happy, "Mmm," squeezing Homura with her arm while relaxing so that her body is soft and comfortable as it's pressed into her.
Homura playfully pouts, "Aww, but my little heart can't hold all of my love for you. It overflows and gushes out everywhere!" Then with a smile, "But if I hold you close to me then at least it will wash over you instead of going to waste~."
Homura decides not to say much more about Takashi, because she doesn't like him and despite everything that's happened thinking about him still makes her a bit jealous sometimes. Instead she just glances off to the side and doesn't say anything.
Anyone actually wanting to attack that place would have to be powerful, fast, or dumb; and likely to make a lot of enemies one way or another. "Well, it would be nice to have it there. I certainly wouldn't mind it. We can ask. I'm sure Mamo-kun wouldn't mind another reason to have his friends over."
Homura's hand supports Madoka as she leans into the touch, and she smiles as she's called by her pet name. "My sweet little angel, Madoka-chan."
So many ways to kiss, and only one eternity to kiss in! Better not put it off~. Homura happily, hungrily accepts each kiss, as if each tender press of lips was a much needed drink of water. Beautiful purple looks into pretty pink and is lost, eyes full of a soft, gentle need. For Homura does have a need, and that need is Madoka, and there is nothing else that can replace her.
Homura leans into the hand that cups her face, enjoying the gentle soft touch of her beloved. Could she ever ask for anything more than this? Is there anything better than to be in the arms of the one you love? The more time she spends with her darling, the more convinced she is that the answer is 'no'.
Madoka's soft, relaxed body is held close, and Homura wouldn't have it any other way.
