Not only does school being out mean more time for work and spending time with loved ones, but for Madoka Kaname it also means more time for Witch hunting, which as a Puella Magi is something she needs to do on a regular basis for a whole plethora of reasons. Today was spent doing just that, and as evening comes on Madoka returns to her home alongside Homura. Not only was it a successful hunt, but evenings and nights are usually when Kyouko goes on the prowl, so if any other Witches decide to get active she's sure the citizens of Tokyo will be in safe hands.
She leaps from rooftop to rooftop, her skirt and it's many frilly petticoats ruffling in the wind, her pink twintails fluttering back behind her. Madoka has gotten the hang of moving around by now, and with the jumps themselves nearly effortless it gives her more time to enjoy the speed of the movement and the wind in her hair. A turn of her head to see Homura leaping beside her, looking more beautiful and cool as opposed to her own cute, and she smiles. "I think I did well; your training really helped!" She looks ahead of herself again as she lands, slowing down as she gets closer to home.
"I have to wonder what the deal was, though. Everything was so neon and crazy. Every Witch is different, I guess..." Madoka hums a little, only to land in her yard a moment later. She looks towards the front door, only to send a playful grin towards Homura, leaping up to her window and opening it carefully from the outside before hopping lightly down over her bed. She holds her hands behind her back and turns to face Homura, assuming she follows, and giving her a happy, closed eyed smile. "I thought I'd try it myself, for once!"
Homura is more than happy to spend more time with Madoka, whether it's cuddling or hunting Witches. The latter might not be as 'fun', but it's necessary. Homura's need to make sure that Madoka will be okay borders on compulsion, so it soothes her to see Madoka performing well and handling herself.
Homura might be able to take some credit for that, but her girlfriend has talent of her own, not to mention the drive necessary to be good at it. For once in her life, Madoka's sincere desire to be a magical girl actually works in Homura's favor.
"You did. We can review it later if you want, but I think you put up a solid fight. You're making good progress. Better than I expected, actually."
What exactly did Homura expect? Well, she doesn't know. She remembers having a hard time when she was first starting out, but things were different back then.
As for what the Witch's deal was, Homura doesn't answer at first, hopping from rooftop to rooftop as she considers the question. "Who knows? Even when it comes to the Witches of people I know, I still don't really get why they take the forms they do. It's always strange like that."
The gun user pauses and watches as Madoka looks up at her window. When she jumps up to the window and opens it, Homura can't help but smirk, following closely after and stopping when she enters Madoka's room.
"It's fun, isn't it? Skips a lot of unnecessary explaining, anyways."
Madoka not only has talent, but she has spent a lot of time watching the way Magical Girls fight Witches, Youma and other various monsters before she became one herself. Everyone has their own style but there's a lot to draw inspiration from and tactics to consider. Having someone who is deeply concerned with her ability to fight well and protect herself to help her along helps a whole lot, too. She's also had plenty of time and reasons to reflect on the fact that the best way to help the most people is to stay alive a long time to defeat more Witches. While she may have been quick to sacrifice herself earlier the fate of the entire world, and perhaps the entire universe, was at stake.
"Oh! Did you have cameras set up recording us? I didn't notice..." There's a chance Homura deployed them while in timestop, or that that wasn't what she meant, but if she did Madoka makes a note to keep an eye out for them next time, if only to test her situational awareness. She looks momentarily concerned, but smiles happily as Homura praises her. "Thanks! I was a little bit worried I might hold you back a little, but if that's not the case I'm glad."
She nods a little in responds to Homura's comment about Witches. From her perspective not a lot of them make any kind of sense. Homulily did in a way though, so it makes her wonder if all of them would if she knew the story behind them.
After jumping through the window she giggles a little, "It is fun! I'm home and my family doesn't even know it yet~!" Which actually is rather different- she'd usually go and talk to her family for a little bit if she'd been out. The thought of that has her giggling a little.
Is this the extent of Madoka Kaname's teenage rebelliousness?
"This wouldn't be the first time we were up here together and they didn't know it." At that thought she tilts her head slightly, "It -is- the first time they wouldn't think to come check up on me for any reason, though."
Homura frowns at the mention of cameras and drones. "Well I did." She reaches into her shield, and pulls out a mangled bit of plastic that looks like it used to have propellers or something. She reaches into it and wrenches free a small camera, turning it over in her hands and inspecting it. "I think one of the familiars thought that it'd be fun to chase after it. I have to manage these things a bit more closely."
A bit of plastic falls off of the drone, and Homrua looks down as it lands on her foot. She starts packing the drone back into her shield, cleaning up the mess it left, and throws the camera in for good measure.
"Whatever. Cost of doing business."
Once inside, Homura sits down on Madoka's bed, pushing the lost drone out of her mind. The thought of being alone with Madoka helps with that. "It isn't, is it? We've had a lot of fun up here, all by our lonesome." She grins, and that grin gets wider as she looks up at Madoka.
"Well, if that's the case, we should make the best of it while we can."
She stands back up, walking around Madoka and wrapping her arms around her from behind. Homura nuzzles against the back of Madoka's neck. "I'll never get over how cute you are, Madoka-chan."
The frown and tone of the comment perks Madoka's curiosity, and when Homura retrieves the damaged drone from her shield she covers her mouth with a gloved hand and giggles into it. "That's one familiar who wasn't coming after us, at least!" She makes a sound and looks to the dark haired Puella as she stows everything back in her shield, "I wonder if you could do something like that on purpose- use a whole lot of drones to distract a horde of familiars or a Witch? Though it might be a waste..."
Another covered giggle comes as Homura grins up at her, and she once again holds her hands behind her back, rocking back and forth between her heels and toes, "We have! I always enjoy spending time alone with you, Homura-chan~." She smiles happily as Homura's arms go around her, leaning back into her. The back of her neck has a fluffy red bow on it, attached to a choker, which might tickle Homura's face, though it isn't wide enough to cover her whole neck.
The pink-haired girl blushes a little at the compliment, reaching up to gently set her hands on her girlfriends forearms as they wrap around her. "It makes me really happy you think I'm so cute, Homura-chan," she replies in a soft tone of voice. "I'm so lucky to have someone who appreciates me as much as you do. With you in my life I know I'll never have to feel unloved or neglected."
"For something as expensive as drones are? Yeah it'd be a waste," states Homura, matter-of-factly. "... but you know, remote-control helicopters could do the same thing for a lot cheaper. Still expensive, but if it's a matter of life or death..."
Homura's face rubs against the back of the choker, since she can't really avoid it. She tilts her head up, kissing Madoka on the back of her head. "I enjoy the time we share too, Madoka-chan. It makes me so happy that I get to be this close to you."
Homura smiles into the back of Madoka's head, happily holding Madoka tight. "Well I do love you, and I'd never want to neglect you. You're so precious to me."
She holds Madoka for a moment or two, cuddling her and enjoying the moment. If she isn't careful and if Madoka doesn't stop her, she might very well spend all night like this. It'd be tempting to.
An idea strikes Homura, and as she's standing with her arms around her beloved, she muses out loud. "You know... since we are going to be alone here, and since your parents probably won't come check on you..."
Homura pauses for a moment. Madoka might feel the slight warmth from Homura's cheeks. She whispers, "Um... well I mean... it'd be nice to brush your hair a bit."
After a moment, she adds, "I mean... in your angel form, where it's so long like that.
"Oh, right! They wouldn't have to have cameras on them if they were just being used as a distraction, would they?" Madoka knows well enough that Homura is capable of causing swarms of bullets, rockets, balls, and all kinds of other things in the blink of an eye using her time stopping magic. Remote control helicopters really wouldn't be all that different, would they?
Her mind is torn away from that line of thought, however, as Homura gets snuggly with her, smiling as the back of her head is kissed and squeezing Homura's arms a little with her hands. It's very relaxing to be held from behind like this, and she could very easily let the rest of the night slip away in enjoyment as well. Her actions have proven that plenty of times already! "I know you do, and I love you too. You never miss a chance to tell me how much I mean to you, and it makes me very happy. I like being so important to you." Her head half turns and she gives Homura a peek out of the corner of her eye to go with a smile, "You're very important to me, too!"
The warmth on Homura's cheeks does get noticed, and causes her to make a curious, "Hm?" sound as her girlfriend prepares to make a suggestion. She giggles softly at first, only to hear the correction and blush a bit herself. "...oh!" She considers for a moment- ok, no. She imagines just how nice that would be for a moment, though the silence might be a bit misleading.
She closes her eyes. With Homura's arms still around her the air around them shimmers faintly. Madoka's outfit sparkles and brightens to a pure, shining white, and as Homura watches her hair begins to lengthen, slowly at first but then with incredible speed until it's long and whispy. Her shining dress shifts and lengthens as well, billowing and soft, the underside of the fabric shining with the stars as visible from deep space. Ethereal wings sprout from her shoulders and stretch out behind her, carefully positioned so as not to be impeded by Homura's arms about her. She lifts ever so slightly from the ground, curling her legs up a little as long, winged boots cover her feet and legs.
With a flash the henshin completes and the shining of her dress dies down, and twinkling around her for several more moments as a gentle reassuring feeling of well-being and reassurance, of hope, sets in around them both. Madoka takes Homura's hand and lifts it, pressing her cheek into her palm for a moment before kissing the back of her fingers. "You can brush my hair whenever you wish, my love."
A feeling of peace settles over Homura as she holds Madoka close. It's exciting, holding her loved one so tightly, but it's also very calming. She smiles as Madoka says she enjoys being loved, and that Homura is important to her. How could she not be happy, being told such sweet things?
After her suggestion, Homura notices the silence. She's about to say that Madoka doesn't have to, since she knows that form makes her tired sometimes, but she sees the air shimmer and her heart stops in anticipation. Is she really going to henshin, right here in Homura's arms?! Homura's face turns bright red, as the lovely form of Madokami appears right there in her embrace. She had forgotten just how beautiful Madoka could be like this...
It takes Homura a moment to recover, enjoying the feeling of being so close to someone who loves her. Reluctantly, she lets go of Madoka, reaching out to run her finger along the edge of one of those etheral wings. After a moment, she reaches into her shield, bringing out a couple of brushes and setting them out on Madoka's desk. Taking a long pink lock into her hand, Homura coos. "Such beautiful long hair... Thank you so much, Madoka-chan!"
She runs her fingers through Madoka's hair, but it's so long that even that takes a while. She carefully goes over every lock, searching for knots so that she can, gently, work through them. As beautiful as her girlfriend's hair is right now, she really doesn't want to rush it. Some things are just too important to do sloppy.
Madoka couldn't manage to be unhappy now if she wanted either, but why would she want to be unhappy when being held in the arms of the one she loves? If she was facing Homura she would be enjoying the bright blush on the Puella Magi's face.
Her smile widens a little as she feels the fingers brush over the edges of her wing, the magical appendages able to be felt and giving resistance but feeling somehow as light as the finest chiffon, somehow even more delicate than whatever wondrous fabric makes up her dress. Madoka can't contain a giggle when Homura calls her hair beautiful and long, so used to being the one admiring the long hair of her girlfriend. "You're welcome, Homura-chan. I really don't mind; I'm happy to have my hair in your capable hands."
She lets out a soft sight as Homura's fingers slide through her hair. Right now the long wispy locks are mostly in order, but floating around as they are does tend to get them tangled over time. Her hair may be magical right now, but it's not quite divinely perfect! Her pigtails, on the other hand, probably could use some attention, having bounced all over the place while she fought the Witch earlier and jumped home.
After a few moments of the hairbrushing Madoka turns her head slightly and looks once more to Homura out of the corner of her eye, not wanting to mess up her brushing too much and knowing she should be still. "I like being like this for you, you know. Because you think I'm beautiful, but also because I really can be your little angel. And also that I was able to become this way because of a wish I made for you."
Homura continues to run her fingers through Madoka's hair. It's so gorgeous and beautiful, and there's so much of it! Is this how Madoka feels when she brushes Homura's hair? Homura's glad that she could let her girlfriend feel that way... though now the tables are turned~.
"You always say the sweetest things, my little angel." That pet name is so fitting right now, people might not guess that it predated Madoka's henshin. "I'm so lucky to be loved by you."
It takes a very long time for Homura to get through Madoka's hair, but the hand is just the start. She reaches over to Madoka's desk, where she set her brushes before, and picks up a thick-toothed comb. Starting at the top, she slowly and gently moves the comb into Madoka's hair, slides the brush down and holding her grip loose so as to not pull too hard through any tangles, gently working through knots and tangles. It may be tangled at times, but it's wonderful in all of its naturality.
Homura pauses as Madoka looks back at her, smiling as she makes eye contact before continuing her process. Her words just make her smile all the more. "You do? I'm glad, because I like seeing you like this. You're always cute, but when you're like this you're especially so."
She has to consider how she feels about Madoka being like this because she made a wish for Homura. Well, Homura wouldn't be here if she hadn't. Oddly enough, Kyouko actually seemed to forget that Homura had become a Witch before, but Homura couldn't just forget it.
"Well... we've both made wishes for each other now, haven't we? We're in this together now." Homura really really hopes that Madoka is happy with this, and won't regret it later, because there's no turning back, and it's Homura's fault.
Her brushing slows, but she picks up after a moment. She's quiet, and a bit uneasy. Moments pass, and then she says, "I appreciate you going so far for me. I wouldn't ever have expected it, but you really did save me. You really are like an angel, you know."
The feeling of Homura's fingers running through her hair is wonderful, and it's amazing to Madoka when she feels that same telltale tugging even after it would normally have ended for her usual hair length. Having her hair complimented and being admired is nice, and of course it's so much moreso because the person doing the admiring is the one she'd most want to impress.
"I'm only saying the things I feel in my heart, Homura-chan. I can't help it if they're sweet, because I love you so much." She closes her eyes for a while as her hair is cared for, smiling once more at the other Puella Magi's words. "I'm lucky to have you to give my love to and to always have it returned."
The finger combing is traded in for the wide toothed comb, and she lets out a happy sigh as the incredibly long, floating locks of hair are cleared of knots and tangles. Once they are they're even softer and silkier than before, and of course just as fluffy and pink as Madoka's hair always is.
Though it might be hard to tell from behind her Madoka blushes when Homura says she's always cute, feeling warm and happy and giddy at such a compliment. That she's even cuter to her girlfriend right now is wonderful icing on the cake. "I like being cute for you, and I like being especially cute for you even more." She giggles softly and lifts a gloved hand, holding it against her cheek, "I never would have guessed I really did have a secret admirer. You make me feel so pretty."
Madoka nods when Homura mentions that having made wishes for each other they're effectively stuck with each other, but rather than anything grim or worrisome it's a quick, happy one. "Yes!" The brushing slows and Homura is quiet, and Madoka picks up the tone in her girlfriends voice when she speaks again, making a soft, "Hm?" of her own.
Carefully, very carefully, she turns. Her hair slowly shifts in the air, but there's just so much of it that only a fraction of it's length is pulled away from Homura. Now facing Homura the floating, ethereally-winged girl reaches out and cups each side of Homura's face with gloved hands. "Homura-chan, I would give anything to save you and keep you safe and happy. Even if I wasn't in love with you I would want you to be safe and happy." She smiles sweetly, her soft pink eyes looking into Homura's with her unendingly kind and loving expression. "But I -am- in love with you. I never knew just how deep love could be before I met you."
One hand lifts from her girlfriends cheek to stroke the top and back of her head, equal parts soothingly and lovingly. "Saving you is the proudest moment I've ever had. I'm happy you think I'm so angelic. But I want you to remember that you saved me, too. If you hadn't saved me, I never could have saved you. You're my guardian angel and my savior, too- you were always there watching over me."
Her cheeks flush a bit more but her pink eyes remain looking gently into Homura's despite the urge to look away shyly, "There are a lot of ways people have to show they want to be together forever. We haven't done any of those things that our families might recognize, but we have made wishes and given our souls to protecting each other." After a quiet moment she adds, "Knowing how much you've done for me, how much you care for me. Learning all of that, and getting to know who you really are... I will love you forever, Homura-chan. You're right, we are in this together, and I couldn't be any happier because of it."
"I think it's only natural that I'd fall in love with you." Homura's voice is soft as she works through Madoka's hair. "I can't imagine why I wouldn't. I've never met anyone like you." The 'secret admirer' comment makes Homura smile. "Well, you did, but I'm glad it's not a secret anymore~."
Homura continues combing through Madoka's hair, and some of the things Madoka says makes her happy. By the time the angelic Puella Magi turns around to face her, Homura's own face is bright red. She stops when Madoka cups her face in her hands, purple eyes wide open and looking deep into Madoka's pink. She smiles meekly, rubbing her cheek against one of Madoka's gloved hands. "I'm glad. I hope that being with me is worth it. I'll never forget that the last wish was for me."
Then Madoka says that she's proud of having saved Homura, and her mind immediately goes back to the first timeline, where Madoka had said something very similar. It's a little different, because she was so helpless and sad back then. Then again, maybe it wasn't that different, since she was pretty helpless and sad when Madoka rescued her this time, too.
'Guardian angel' sounds a lot nicer than 'stalker', which is how Homura had been thinking of herself. She wasn't malicious about it... and if she wasn't so desperate then she wouldn't have gone so far, but what she did would have looked creepy to an outsider, and she knew it. Yet Madoka's calling her a guardian angel... She really does look at the bright side of people, Homura realizes. Maybe that's why she always felt so comfortable around her...
"You're worth it, and you always have been, Madoka-chan. I could never forget everything you've done for me, or how you make me feel."
She takes the pink locks into her hands. Madoka's hair is long enough that Homura can still brush a lot of it even when she's facing her. No-- actually, it's not necessary for her to see what she's doing. She can do it by feel well enough.
She reaches up behind Madoka, wrapping one arm around her almost in an embrace as one hand grasps a pink lock, while her other hand takes the comb, slides it into that impossibly long hair, and gently pushes it downward. Her touch is light, and the teeth of the comb might tickle slightly against Madoka's scalp and the back of her neck. She looks into her beloved's eyes as she brushes her hair like this, not smiling but yet somehow clearly happy.
"There's no one I'd rather be stuck with either. I don't think I could have asked for anything better. It may not be the most traditional romance, but I don't regret it."
Madoka smiles a bit wider, "Me too. I always wondered what it'd be like to be confessed too, and now I know it's the best thing ever when it's coming from the person you're meant to be with." She truly does believe that too, after all the two of them have been through.
Those purple eyes are beautiful, so while she looks into them Madoka while she speaks can't help but admire them. When her hand is nuzzled into she brushes her thumb gently over her cheek. "Of course you're worth it. Every moment I spend with you reminds me of that."
It's true that if Homura had told Madoka the very first time they met how much she'd be hovering around her the pink-haired girl would have been freaked out, but her timely intervention not long after proved just how necessary it was. Once she knew the full extent of why Homura always followed her around it was easy to accept- Madoka is nothing if not able to be empathic towards the situations of others. And even then it wasn't as if Homura ever took advantage in any kind of obscene way. What better to call someone always looking out for you and ready to intervene to keep you safe at a moments notice than a guardian angel? The title fits perfectly, at least to Madoka.
"Then we both feel the same way," she replies warmly when told she's worth the price Homura has paid. She continues looking into Homura's eyes, only to giggle again softly as she feels the comb brushing through her hair even while she faces Homura. "I'm sorry if I interrupted you. I felt that was something I had to say."
It's intimate in a way to have her hair brushed while looking into the eyes of the one brushing her hair, especially when they feel the way they do about each other. It makes her feel a little embarrassed and shy, but she's already admitted before to enjoying being made to feel that way, and so she just continues looking into the eyes of her loved one with her face slowly reddening to match, a blushing angel.
"You'd already proven your love to me a thousand times over before you ever even admitted it. I would rather you never had hurt or feel pain, but knowing you could endure all that for me is the most flattering thing anyone could ever do. If you don't regret it, than I'm very happy to accept it. I only hope I can match your love equally, my darling."
Though the purpose of changing into this form was to let Homura brush her hair and what she intends might distract from that Madoka can't quite help herself. The hovering girl floats slowly closer to Homura until her lips are touching her girlfriends, brushing them lightly against them before gently puckering to give her a tender kiss.
Homura's smile is a little sheepish. "I have to admit, it was difficult for me, but I don't think I could stand it anymore. I had to say something...." She giggles. "To think, we were worried that we might lose each other then... It didn't turn out that way at all."
It would be hard for Homura to imagine herself with anyone else. It'd be hard imagining herself loving anyone as much as she loves Madoka, and she can't imagine ever wanting to leave. A lot of people their age make promises that they're never able to keep, but in Homura's case... well, all things considered she's beyond dedicated, and while she doesn't always act out of kindness, she does act out of love.
Homura smiles as Madoka says she's worth it to her. The dark-haired Puella has never valued herself that much, but it's enough to know that Madoka considers her important, at least.
Madoka apologizes, and Homura shakes her head. "You're letting me play with your hair. It's okay if you want to say something." Though, she does notice that Madoka likes to move around when she's like this. It's beautiful in an almost otherworldly way, the way she floats... almost how one would expect an angel to be.
Holding her angel this close is very intimate, and Homura is greedy for it. No amount of affection is 'too much' for Homura, especially now that she's had months to get used to it, but her girlfriend is so amazingly beautiful like this that it's still overwhelming. That's why she freezes like a deer in headlights when Madoka's face moves closer, and their lips lock.together. Homura's brushing stops, but only for a moment.
Homura's grip on Madoka's hair tightens, and for a moment she's more petting her hair than brushing it. She doesn't even notice it when she drops the comb.
"I was so surprised, but looking back on everything I feel silly for not noticing sooner. When you told me the things I said could be romantic... I should have seen it then." Madoka giggles softly at her own past obliviousness, "It didn't take us very long to get close, did it?" A small headshake is given, which has a bigger effect on her hair, sending slow ripples through it like the surface of a pond. "We didn't lose each other, but being afraid we might made it clear how important we were to each other. Even scary things can have an upside, once they're past."
Unlike Homura, Madoka has experience dating someone else. Not being in love with someone else, but it does give perspective. She was happy, and it was fun. But things never really seemed perfect like this does. If she had to compare the two relationships the most obvious difference in her own feelings is that Homura is happy to be as close and snuggly as she wants, but Takashi tended to focus on other things, more intellectual pursuits.
"Okay; thank you. It's hard for me not to want to look into your eyes when we're talking about important things." What she doesn't say is that it's hard for her not to want to be close when they're looking into each other's eyes like they are, though her actions are likely speaking loudly enough to not need the words.
Homura is greedy for intimacy? Madoka is too; as much as she gets she always wants more. There's also something immensely gratifying about being wanted so much, that she always tries to put into words but doesn't quite manage. That Homura wants to hold her as much as she wants to hold Homura, that she is craved and needed, it satisfies the self critical and worthless feeling girl she once was even now after she's found her self esteem and self worth.
So when her approach overwhelms her girlfriend, and that softest of kisses has her dropping her hairbrush Madoka blushes more herself, cooing in a sigh through her nose as the brushing becomes an affectionate petting. More angelfeather soft kisses come, slowly and one after another, and Madoka smiles against her girlfriends lips. Her eyes open back up and they sparkle. She's so happy being here and being so adored that she could almost cry.
Instead she'll do her best to be wonderful for her girlfriend to make her just as happy. As they kiss her ethereal, magical wings flutter and gloved fingers push into Homura's hair and brush against her scalp before sliding through the long, dark locks, all while her other hand remains cradling her cheek.
Right now Madoka is a vision of angelic innocence and here she is kissing and adoring her beloved.
Homura giggles. Was Madoka oblivious? It seemed like it at the time. To be fair, for a while they both kind of were. At first it seemed like it was obvious to everyone but Homura and Madoka, and then it was obvious to everyone but Madoka. "... Maybe, but I don't know if I was ready for it then, or if you were. I think it was the right time... and I still remember those days fondly. Going ice skating with you and carrying you home... sitting on the cold rooftop alone with you."
"We've been great friends long before we started dating. I think that's one of the better parts of our relationship. I never feel alone when I'm with you."
Her voice lowers to a whisper. "Besides, you were the sweetest little tease, especially since you didn't know you were doing it! I think I could've easily gotten carried away at more than one point."
Homura nods as Madoka thanks her. "Well, I always enjoy looking into your eyes, my dear~." She has a teasing tone to her voice, though it's hard to maintain too much of a straight face when she's this close. She is looking Madoka in the eyes, though.
And if being this close is intense, kissing is even more so. The dark-haired Puella loses herself in the moment, caressing Madoka and petting her hair as she's kissed over and over. Her hand cradles the back of her girlfriend's head, and she softly meets Madoka's kisses with her own.
Right now, Homura isn't even thinking about anything else. Her head is light, her cheeks are blushing, and all she wants to do is stay close.
"My loving and sweet little angel," she whispers between kisses. "I'll always love you."
Madoka smiles happily, "I've always had a lot of fun spending time with you and doing things with you. You're fun to talk to and be around, and were even before I got to hug you and kiss you." She lets out a happy sigh as she thinks of all the happy times they've shared together, and she can't help but agree that becoming best friends before they started dating has made things all the better.
Then she's told how much of a tease she was, and she blushes and giggles more, "I'm glad you enjoyed it. ...it's embarrassing to think I was like that without even knowing it, though."
Homura's tone becomes teasing and her smile brightens, the innocent and blushing vision of an angel tilting her head down slightly to flutter her eyelashes at her girlfriend while looking through them. Is it possible for someone to look innocent and angelic in addition to flirty? Only Homura can answer that question.
Even soft kisses can be intense when feelings are running high. That these gentle kisses are causing her girlfriend to lose herself in the moment is all that Madoka could ask for. She loves the feeling of the hand cradling the back of her head, and the return of the kisses are eagerly accepted. Even like this Madoka is crazy for the love and affection Homura gives her.
It would be a lie to say that Homura is the only thing Madoka cares about, but right now the moment shared with her is the only one she's acknowledging. Though she still floats she slides her arm off of Homura's face and takes her gently by the shoulder, lowering herself down further with it while she's held in that near-embrace so she can hold herself gently against her girlfriend, the nature of her floating making her feel almost weightless in the other girl's arms.
"I'll always love you too Homura-chan," Madoka whispers in return. "Thank you for loving me so much," she adds a moment later, only to press more sweet kisses onto Homura's lips, losing track of time and place in favor of reveling in the moment.
"You were always fun, too," says Homura with a smile. "You've always been good to me, and you've never shied away from spending time with me. You were a sweetheart right from the start." She giggles before adding, "Though I'd be lying if I said that the kissing didn't make things better."
Homura shakes her head. "Seeing you embarrassed is pretty cute, but being so pretty that you can drive me crazy... that's not something to be ashamed of."
Speaking of driving her crazy, Homura watches Madoka's innocent flirtatiousness and her grip tightens. "Oh my god... my sweet little angel."
Was she doing something before now? Homura can't remember. It's just her and her angel now. Her arms wrap more tightly around the beautiful pink-haired girl, cuddling up to her and nuzzling against her neck.
Everything about this is strange and different. Madoka's weightlessness and floatiness, the ethereal wings behind her, the long flowing hair... the thought that someone she loves has such properties... Something about it is even better than seeing her dressed up as a secretary.
"Thank you for letting me love you, and thank you for loving me back. That you would accept my feelings makes me so happy. You've never looked at me suspiciously, or hated me for doing what I thought I needed to. Thank you for always having faith in me..."
Homura hesitates for a moment, but then she leans in and kisses Madoka again. Everything about this moment is so sweet, and she doesn't need anything other than this.
"Now I'm your sweetheart," Madoka replies in a sweet voice, only to giggle playfully. "The kissing is very fun, isn't it? The only thing better than cuddling with you is getting to kiss you while we cuddle." She makes an attempt to prove this by kissing Homura again, letting the kiss linger for a moment.
"Being told I'm pretty enough to drive you crazy might be embarrassing, but I'm not ashamed of it at all," Madoka says softly. "If it's with you than being embarrassed is something I want to do more of, not less." For certain romantic kinds of embarrassment, at least. The flirting seems to be a hit, and Madoka giggles playfully as Homura holds her more tightly and wraps her arms further around her, cuddling against her while hovering in the air next to her, tilting her head to the side to let Homura nuzzle her neck more easily, the red bow replaced now by a simple white choker. The hand in Homura's hair strokes through it a bit more, and she playfully winds a small lock of it around her finger, twisting it around and around in a flirtatious manner.
She's quite happy to dress up in cute outfits for her girlfriend, and if the best outfit to wear happens to be the expression of her pure desire to save and protect Puella Magi, Homura among them, then all the better. It's the manifestation of her kind, selfless, and giving nature itself given physical and magical form, and in a way could be considered the truest form to herself. If this is how Homura likes her the best, isn't that just a way of saying her biggest infatuation is with Madoka and her purity of heart itself? There's hardly a higher compliment she could be paid than that.
"You're welcome, Homura-chan. I'm happy to accept your feelings. You've given me so many reasons to put my faith in you." Homura leans in and kisses her and Madoka lets her eyes close, returning the kiss and enjoying the symbol of affection as it's given to her. Her girlfriends lips are so soft against her own, and she's been so caring to her. She's worried for her, fought for her, and bled for her. Most of all she loves Madoka and wants Madoka, and so Homura's little angel lovingly accepts the kiss, hoping that more will soon follow as she snuggles up to her, still afloat in the air, if only barely.
Homura agrees fully, though she doesn't express her agreement in words. Instead, she expresses it by accepting the kiss, sucking on Madoka's lips for a moment, and then lightly slips her lips around Madoka's bottom lip as she pulls away with a wink.
Romantic embarassment? "That's right, isn't it? I caught you thinking like that before, didn't I?" Homura's tone is teasing again, and she scritches Madoka behind the ear, reaching under her ethereal wings in order to do so. "My sweet little Madoka-chan is so much fun to tease~, especially knowing that she likes it!"
Homura's own hair is silky and soft as her darling plays with it, though it's a bit tangled from having been in a fight. Somehow Homura manages to not let it be too bad of a shape, despite everything.
"It's funny... I was talking to Kyouko the other day. She got me thinking about things..." Homura's hand lightly strokes Madoka's back as she talks. "The way she spoke about Sayaka... they do seem like they're perfect for each other. Sayaka and Kyouko are both very..." She pauses to find a nice way to put it. "... Well, they aren't afraid to speak their mind or confront people." That sounds nice enough.
"Yet at the same time they tend to compliment each other pretty well. Kyouko is more..." Another pause. "... pragmatic, and Sayaka needs that, but Sayaka is more idealistic, and I think Kyouko needs that too."
She holds Madoka tightly for a moment. "It's not quite the same as the relationship that we have, but I think it's similar in some ways. I think you and I both care a lot about people, and you also have things that I need. I hope I do the same for you."
Is Homura in love with Madoka's purity? Well, it's true that when Homura first fell for her, it was when Madoka was in the middle of protecting innocent people. Homura's always loved her selflessness and kindness, so in a way it isn't surprising that she'd appreciate the visual representation of that. If it means that Madoka is just as angelic on the outside as she is on the inside, then of course Homura would like it.
More kisses and cuddles do come. Homura leans against the weightless Madoka, holding her and kissing her before closing her eyes to rub her nose against her girlfriend's.
Madoka's cheeks redden as her lips are sucked on and then her bottom lip is tugged, giggling at Homura's playful kissing as she's winked at. She blushes even more as she's teased, leaning her head into Homura's hand and replying with a playful, "Maybe!" to the question. She squirms a little in her arms bashfully, though Homura probably knows by now that she doesn't actually mind it- she just said so herself! "Homura-chan is teasing me~," she complains jokingly.
Silky and soft are two things Madoka likes about Homura's hair, along with the fact it's beautiful. If she finds any tangles in it while she runs her fingers through it she'll be careful about not tugging on them while trying to comb them away. The twirling about her finger might not be doing much to help, on the other hand.
Madoka looks into Homura's eyes again as she starts talking about her conversation with Kyouko, nodding in agreement. "They can both be very forward if there's something they take issue with." Which can sometimes be a good way to get those issues resolved quickly. Sometimes.
"Hehe, so they're turning out to be as good for each other as I'd hoped? I'm happy for them." When Homura holds her tighter Madoka slips one arm around her girlfriends waist, squeezing her about the neck as well with her other arm, hugging her and practically hanging off of her, though she doesn't actually need to take any of the floating girl's weight. It does allow her to hug without quite touching the ground though, which she might be playing a small game with herself to see if she can avoid.
She returns the kiss happily and giggles while brushing the tip of her nose against Homura's, only to slip her head over her shoulder and nuzzle against her, her long hair flowing silkily against Homura's neck and ear.
"You have a lot of things I need. You see dangers that I might not or before I would, you look for solutions to problems right away, and I think you're also much better at looking forward to the future than I am." She leans her head against Homura's again, "I know I can be easily swept up in the moment, or rush into things without thinking them over. You're much better at being careful than I am, and I think all the help and advice you've given me has helped me be better about making rash decisions." The most prominent example of this is obvious, the very reason Homura spent so very long repeating the same month and a half over and over, but it's not the only one.
Madoka's grip on Homura tightens, and the dark-haired Puella will find herself caught up in a tight hug, the pink-haired girl curling up a little while pressing and rubbing against her. "You're also the warmest and snuggliest person I've ever met," she sighs happily, the angelic girl letting herself cling to her girlfriend. "The other thing you have that I need is yourself~."
"Yes I am~." Homura's smile becomes an impish grin. "... and we're all alone too, so there's no stopping me!" Her hand starts to lightly tickle against the back of Madoka's neck, her touch as light as a feather.
As Madoka runs her fingers through her hair, Homura's eyes half-lid. She's content to sit still and allow it to happen, safe in her beloved's loving hands. She's happy to be where she is right now, and there's plenty of her silky soft hair for Madoka to run her fingers though. The twirling might not straighten Homura's hair out, but she's not complaining either.
Homura nods to Madoka's question. "It's just like we thought. I think they'll be alright, at least for a while. Things are going so well that Kyouko was starting to get worried."
She pauses, absentmindedly running her fingers through her darling's long pink hair. "... but mostly she seemed worried about preserving Sayaka's idealism. Well... at least we won't have to worry about them." Sayaka has certainly lasted longer than the week or two that Homura was expecting.
Her girlfriend starts listing ways that Homura actually adds to her life, and the veteran listens and nods. "Well, I'm glad. If my experience can help someone else, especially if it's you, then I'm happy."
The purple Puella doesn't fight any hugs or cuddles, allowing herself to get swept up in it. Seeing that Madoka is still floating, she holds Madoka tight and tries to pull herself up so that her feet no longer touch the ground either.
She giggles as Madoka says that she needs her, blushing at the declaration. "I need you, too. I don't think I could make it without you. You're so important to me."
"Ooh noo," comes the mock panic as Homura's plan to tease is unopposable, followed by a peak of playful giggles as the back of Madoka's neck is tickled, the pink-haired girl shaking her head a little from side to side.
Gloved fingers continue to brush through and enjoy Homura's hair as the question is answered, and Madoka giggles softly again when she hears Kyouko had gotten worried by things going so well. "It must be in her nature to be suspicious. Hopefully she won't have to worry about Sayaka-chan in that regard. If she's made it this far I think she'll be okay." She did, after all, see what happened with Anshi. Things were tense for a while, but with all that if she was able to pull it together Madoka has faith her childhood friend can keep moving forward; especially with Kyouko there to support her.
She sighs happily as her hair is played with some more, saying in a more restful voice, "You help me a lot." After a moment of quietness she adds, "It's a little strange, actually. Not you, just... Puella Magi, things seem stacked against us to make us want to compete with each other," by which she of course means the need for Grief Seeds, "but we really have so much to offer each other by working together, don't we?"
Homura lifts her legs and Madoka makes a tiny eep, giggling as she shifts midair, hugging onto Homura a bit tighter to support her weight. She pulls her head back from over Homura's shoulders to look into her eyes, smiling at the blush. "I won't make you try to do it without me. I'll always be here for you, and to support you."
It's even a bit literal at the moment, with Homura having lifted her legs, and Madoka's eyes sparkle playfully. She lifts a bit higher into the air and then tilts back, her wings spreading as she tilts far enough so that her back is to the floor, letting Homura rest entirely on top of her, the two of them floating in the air completely unrestricted.
Unlike snuggling atop one another on a bed they're both able to hug and rub each other's backs as much as they like, which Madoka now takes full advantage of, sliding a hand under Homura's hair to rub up and down her back.
Curiously Madoka sends a little peek to the teardrop Soul Gem at her chest, and smiles when she sees it's shining just as almost brightly as it was right after she purified it post fight, barely any darker than it might have been had she not changed into this form at all.
Homura shrugs at Madoka's comment about Kyouko. "Well... I don't think she's being unreasonable. The universe usually isn't this nice to us. There's often some kind of trouble." Homura decides not to bring up the fact that Kyouko often is that trouble. "... but we've gotten past the trouble spots I knew about, and even some new ones I didn't see. I think we'll all be okay for a while."
Homura considers the point made on Puella Magi, and as she thinks about it she comments out loud. "Well... I've come to think that Walpurgisnacht is the punishment fornot working together. Not when it arrives, but when it wins. We have to work together, at least to an extent... but the odds are still stacked against us, because everything is geared towards driving us apart. Puella Magi can fight a few Witches on their own and then think that it will always be that way. Sometimes we fight over territory. Sometimes we fight just because we don't trust each other."
"We need to unite, but nothing about the system tells us that. It's all competition and mistrust."
Homura glances off to the side. "You remember the retail witch, right? Mami and I yelled at each other, but at the end she claimed the seed and gave it to me." Homura shakes her head, "If she hadn't been the kind of person who would do that, I don't think she would have cooperated during Walpurgisnacht either, and I think we would've all been weaker for it. I think... most Puella Magi aren't like that, and then when something like Walpurgisnacht comes along they don't have anyone to depend on."
'I won't make you try to do it without me'
Homura is actually happy to hear that, though she didn't really doubt it. She knew that Madoka would want to stay alive, but to hear her make a promise like that is a bit more reassuring.
Homura is lifted up, and even if she didn't directly ask this was what she wanted. Now she's resting on top of her floating girlfriend, snuggling up close to her and enjoying the sensation of flying. Homura could fly on her own, but judging by the state of Madoka's Soul Gem it seems she can do it a lot more cheaply than Homura could.
Her back arches as it's rubbed, and with things being as they are this means that she presses against Madoka. She rests her head against MAdoka's shoulder, and traces across Madoka's back with the tip of her finger.
"We were given a cruel hand by fate, but that's why we have to make the best use of our happy times as we can. I hope Kyouko is, even while she's worrying," Madoka notes a bit more somberly. She considers the comment about Walpurgisnacht and nods, "That does make sense. Even with everyone coming together it was incredibly powerful. It's hard to say how many more might have died if fewer people had been there to stop it?"
She thinks back to when Mami and Homura were fighting, effectively, over who would get to protect her and show her the ropes. Madoka remembers it well, though not particularly fondly. At least it turned out well, and the verbal fighting ended up resolving a few issues. At the mention of competition and mistrust Madoka hums softly, "It's a lot easier to trust one another when there are so many examples of non-Puella around to show how well things can work when people do let themselves rely on each other. It must have been so hard for you without those influences around." It would be hard for her to think of how Kyouko or Sayaka might have been without their influence, if not for the fact she saw that all very well though Homura's memories.
Her mind then shifts back to more directly happy thoughts as Homura snuggles with her and rubs against her. When her girlfriend arches her back and presses against her Madoka makes a happy sound and squeezes her closer for a moment, closing her eyes and enjoying the finger brushing along her back. The dress is soft and billowy, but despite it's completely concealing white also feels thin, the divot of her spine and the shape of her shoulder blades easily felt through the garment.
With Homura's head on her shoulder Madoka turns her own head to kiss on top of Homura's, brushing her bangs to the side with her fingers before cradling her in her arms as they float above the floor, her long pink hair hovering all about them.
How many would have died if people didn't team up to stop Walpurgisnacht? Homura glances off to the side and doesn't immediately comment, because she's pretty sure the answer would be 'everyone'. If even a few less showed up, it would've been more than just her Inquisition that fell. Without the ability to rewind time, Homura herself might...
Well, none of that happened. No point in worrying about it now. The losses they did suffer were bad enough, and every once in a while Homura is reminded of her regret... but that battle was still won.
She thinks over past timelines. The more timelines she lived through, the less easily she could get help from others. "Looking at this timeline, it's hard to believe that any of that stuff happened at all, or even could happen. Having other kinds of magical girls does help, not only because of the influence, but because they can actually help instead of being competition. Really, people seem to think that we have it harsh now, but this is the best I've ever had it. I guess it's just a matter of perspective.."
Homura adjusts herself to get more comfortable while lying on top of Madoka in the air. As Madoka squeezes her tight and kisses her on the forehead, Homura sighs happily. She can't imagine anything better than this. The dark-haired girl can't help but feel how thin Madoka's henshin fabric is, and her blush gets ever-so-slightly worse (or better?).
Homura opens her eyes to see pink hair surrounding the two of them. She grins, watching that pretty and fluffy hair float through the air.
Madoka gives Homura a warm hug as she speaks about the past timelines and how harsh they were. "We're very lucky to have as many people looking out for us as we do. With what you've helped me learn of the past don't want to ever take any of them for granted."
Homura gets more comfortable Madoka lets her arms relax about her, resting on her girlfriends back while the other gently brushes over her hair. With her eyes closed and Homura's cheek pressed to fabric she doesn't notice the blush this time, which is perhaps a shame.
Snuggling close and supporting Homura while floating through the air is a very interesting experience, and very comfortable as well. She smiles to herself, wondering for a few moments if she'd revert to her normal self if she fell asleep like this, or if she'd fall out of the air even if she didn't. With that in mind she very, very slowly shifts in the air so that they're floating above her bed, just in case.
It wouldn't be hard for her to fall asleep, so comfortable has she become.
